Can't believe that my niece was discharged from hospital a couple of weeks ago after having a gallstone removed, given antibiotics for the infection it had caused and is now back in hospital in agony, raging temperature and throwing up green stuff (sorry). She was apparently on the urgent list for gall bladder removal, clearly this isn't urgent enough!
Very sorry to hear that Bolton.
Has she been given pain relief?
Are they going to operate?

Yes they've given her morphine thankfully but just waiting for her bloods to come back. I'm hoping they will operate asap

awww the poor thing - she'll still be weak and it would be in her best interest to get her temp under control and then whip that gall bladder immediately - guess some people are more urgent than others
I hope she gets the op soon and is feeling a lot better

I hope so too Bolton.
Best wishes, I hope she`s feeling better soon.
Aw Bolton hope it's all sorted quickly! Poor girl with a very young baby to sort out too!
Wishing her speedy recovery xx
Bloody hell Bolton! I hope they sort her out quickly. Poor girl
Blimey Bolton - I do hope that she gets sorted soon. She needs to be back at home and enjoying the first few months of her baby's life
Can't believe this! She is now in hospital for the third time - the second time they put her on a drip and she was in three days then they sent her home with antibiotics saying they couldn't operate then as her gall bladder was too infected and inflamed. She finished her antibiotics on Friday and then today started with the pain and sickness again and has been readmitted! Her op is on the 29th May but that's three weeks away and in the meantime surely all these antibiotics can't be good for her!
Oh no Bolton....I so sorry........ poor girl They really don't seemed to have got a grip of it do they

I know it seems really odd she keeps having to go through this. Its obviously in real need of being taken out - why can't they just clear up the infection with the antibiotics and whip it out? Maybe they will this time? She can't keep going through this!

Yes, hopefully they won't make her wait until the end of May now Bolton.....
awwww Bolton - this is terrible news
But ... she is in the best place - they will be keeping a sharp eye on her
Hard times for you all

I think surgeons aren't keen to operate when there is sepsis in someone's system, especially if it's near to the area they are operating on because there is a risk of blood poisoning.
They'll maybe put her on IV antibiotics and then whip it out as soon as the infection clears up.
Hope she gets well soon.

I think you're right Yogi, they also may keep her on low dose antibiotics until after her surgery to ensure the infection doesn't flare up yet again.I hope they keep her as pain free as possible BF and her surgery all goes well, poor girl.
Aww the poor girl She's had a crappy time of it hasnt she? Make sure you take some video footage of her baby for her, bet she's not getting the time to enjoy the little one with all this other stuff going!
They say 3rd time lucky so fingers crossed she get sorted out before they send her home again!
Yep..fingers crossed.
And a whole lot more
I hope they can sort it asap Bolton, it must be dreadful for her and her family to watch her in so much pain, when a routine operation could easily have avoided her having to suffer this long.
She's really missing her baby, poor girl, but getting plenty of visits and pics. The latest is they are too busy at the moment (bank holiday) so will probably send her home tomorrow - again - and do the op in a few days!

Poor girl Still, at least she won't have to wait until the end of the month Bolton

Hopefully not!
Have just read this thread which I'd not seen before - there was me moaning about my plight with my youngest, and not realising others on here were worried about young relatives too.
Hope that your niece is ok, BF - I've had my Gall bladder removed and it isn't bad really - I was up and about looking after 2 small children after a couple of days, and the relief from the pain is wonderful!!
Ducky - hope your son is ok now - maybe there is another thread with an update on *goes to look*
