First up, I'm not asking you to give me any money.
Unfortunately, my Canada plans are all up in the air due to the fact that I can't get any funding. No student loans company, the British council, the BFI, or even the Canada loans company will support me. I'm pretty gutted by this, as if I can't get any funding, I won't be able to afford to attend the school whilst also living out there.
But could there be a way?
Crowdfunding has become very popular over the last few years, especially for people developing new projects, gadgets, websites etc. But I never thought there would be a site dedicated to fund people's education.
Turns out there is: https://hubbub.net/
There's a fair few people on there asking "Joe Public" to help fund their further education plans. In return for the donations, they offer "rewards" based on how much you're willing to donate.
Is this weird? Would you consider donating money to someone you don't know, just so they can bum around and be a student? (Okay, that last part was a joke)
But seriously, would you?
Should I start up one? My rewards could be gold ties.
