I'm really surprised it's all of them but the one I'm most surprised at is Mary's marriage breaking down. Their relationship came across as a tight and stable one, just shows you never know what's going to happen.

Well today's show was a shocker with the White House debacle! I often watch US news stations and as today's story unfolded and we were shown different stations discussing it there was one film clip they kept showing and I had a sudden flashback. I remember seeing the story on the news and recognised them from that today. Was about to mention something else that surprised me about the end of today's show, if it's correct, but don't want to spoil it for Olly

Couple 'gatecrash' Barack Obama's White House dinner

Secret Service investigating reports that US reality TV hopefuls breached White House security to attend state dinner

The step up from socialite to celebrity can be a tricky one. In the UK this is usually achieved through a romantic tryst with a famous person, swiftly followed by an appearance on a reality TV show.

Americans Tareq and Michaele Salahi appear to have taken a more direct route to fame, however, by allegedly gatecrashing President Obama's first White House dinner on Tuesday night.

The US Secret Service is investigating how the couple, who its spokesman, Ed Donovan, confirmed were not on the guest list, managed to breach security and attend the 300-strong event.

Donovan said an initial finding indicated that a checkpoint did not follow proper procedures to ensure the two were on the list.

The Salahis, who were described by the Washington Post as "polo-playing socialites," are also reportedly auditioning for roles in the TV programme The Real Housewives of Washington".

Michaele Salahi's Facebook page – she has a fan page rather than a profile – was dutifully updated within hours of the White House dinner. Salahi, a former model and cheerleader who had 2,213 "fans" at the time of writing, posted a photo album named "White House state dinner," showing herself and her husband posing with America's great and good.

"I was honoured to be invited to attend the first state dinner hosted by President Obama and the First Lady to honour India," Michaele explains on her page.

The album features the Salahis with White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, mayor of DC Adrian Fenty and vice-president Joe Biden.

There are no pictures posted of Tareq and Michaele with the president, but one imagines that was not for want of trying.

The "bio" on the Michaele Salahi's Twitter page, which appears to be genuine, reads: "Loving, passionate, energetic, charismatic, giving, beautiful, always positive, faithful, I see the good in everyone, love pashion, polo & Oasis champagne."

But after this stunt it seems not everyone agrees. Hundreds of comments have been left on Michaele Salahi's Facebook page, many of them decidedly negative: "You are absolutely pathetic. People will really do anything for attention," said one commenter.

Another post said: "Enjoy going to jail."

But opinion appears to be divided on the issue, with others congratulating the pair.  "You pulled the caper of the millennium!" wrote one.

Donovan said the couple did not pose any danger: "It's important to note that they went through all the security screenings and the magnetometer screening, just like all the other guests did."

He added that Obama and others under Secret Service protection had their usual guards with them at the dinner.

You're gradually catching up it took me a couple of days to get into the DC show, I don't know if they've had other series but I've not seen it before so knew nothing of the hw's. After 2 days it suddenly got good, hope you enjoy

the first few episodes of all the series ones are slowish as they introduce the people. .then after they get to know them they tend to make sure they are set up for maximum shouty stuff ..great viewing

may save watching the DC stuff for a while to keep me amused over the holiday period when I presume the schedules will be crap different ..got loads of other stuff to catch up on as well as the online reunion shows for NY..

also I've not checked this but I don't think the DC lot got many seasons. .think they were canned. .could be wrong tho

Yes I saw the fashion show, I love watching them in whichever series. That must have been a great trip you had.

I was really surprised that it seems the series finished today, not even on for a week! shortest hw's series ever. I too wondered if it was because of the political stuff. Although we had a bit of an update on some of them after the show there's still a few things I'd liked to have seen continue to end certain storylines. Ah well, wonder when the next hw series starts. If it's a while I'll have to fill that time with something more productive

So your boy was born there, that will be an interesting story for him to tell through his life It's great to have not only the good memories of when you lived there but that you can also revisit and become part of life there again, a lot different to the uk eh?

Oh so reunion tomorrow, that's good, hope we hear some interesting catch ups. After that I'd better change my routine again to how it was before watching these series back to back for several weeks

Yellow Rose

No, he wasn't born there, I smuggled him back in to Britain disguised as a little bump up my jumper, 3 months before he was born.

I wish there was going to be more on right away, but I suppose we'll just have to wait...... impatiently.

Can't wait to see the reunions later.  From what I have read all of the men are there too, so should make for a pretty explosive one.

Cinds

Yeah I saw that Cinds. . .you think they'd at least give us the Judge

I was trying to remember where I first saw all these HW series and apart form NJ which C4 showed once it was a Channel called Diva TV  ..they used to run them all back to back all weekend and I'd have them on in the background then I started to pay attention. .then got hooked..

Top Chef was another they ran as well... I used to like that too..

Hope ITV pick up the Atlanta one in the new yr. .that is a doozy by all accounts and still going. . saw the first series on that old Diva channel but when it closed down no one else showed it.. problem with ITV showing two a day means it goes by too quickly.. I can't watch much stuff on puter or lappy . . I prefer it on TV  ..it's bigger so I can see better  plus it's more comfy

Mount Olympus *Olly*

I know what you mean about watching on the tv rather than a computer.  I record mine up in the bedroom, so when I get in from work I have a shower and put the jamas on before snuggling in to bed to watch them.  Just a shame I have to get back up to the feed the animals (husband, child & dogs included in that).

There is a woman in the DC series called, Catherine "Cat" Ommanney. She's english ... comes across as a right biatch .... but she sounds so familiar ? ... Anyone know where I might have heard or seen her before

Angel, I too thought Cat was familiar, it was her voice more than anything which is quite distinctive. Before moving to DC I've wondered if she was ever on British tv. I didn't like her in the show, very rude and too outspoken at times. Enjoy the rest of the series, even though it's a short one lol.

I watched the DC reunion show today, very good lots of sparks flying. Now that the recent hw shows have finished the tv screen will be boring

Never seen OC before but you all seem to like it so I'll wait for that to come round, and yet again see how the other half live That's why I watch certain shows because I'm interested in other people's lifestyles, hubby doesn't get it at all

Yellow Rose

I watched the reunion show to see what the couple who gatecrashed the Whitehouse had to say for themselves.I was astonished at how brazen they were, they would not answe rany questions regarding the Whitehouse or indeed their finances or the situation with their"House" that they had when they auditioned for the show. They certainly did hijack the show.

Real Housewives of DC’s Stacie Turner & Husband Jason Have Separated

Some sad news to report today as former Real Housewives of DC star Stacie Turner and her husband Jason Turner have separated.

In a statement to the Washington Post, Stacie confirms the split.  “We remain friends,” said Stacie, adding she and Jason are “committed to our family and focused on our children.”

Stacie, 44, and Jason, 42 had been married for over 14 years. Stacie, a real estate agent, was a fan favorite on the now canceled Real Housewives of DC, as she always managed to remain level headed amidst all the drama.

Stacie’s storyline on the show also included her quest to track down her biological father. Her husband Jason was in fact responsible for helping her find her biological dad in Nigeria. The two visited the country last year showing no signs of marital troubles.

Oddly enough, Stacie is not the first DC housewife to have her marriage end since the show filmed.  Catherine Ommanney and her husband Charles split in 2010, while the infamous Tareq and Michaele Salahi also ended their marriage late last year after Michaele ran off with Journey guitarist Neal Schon.

Bravo canceled the Real Housewives of DC series last year after Stacie and her costars banded together and decided they would not take part if Michaele was cast.

The frustration from Andy and the hw's with the answers Michaele or Tarek gave, or didn't give, was palpable. How Michaele smiles through everything that's thrown at her verbally is quite amazing, either a very good actress or strong woman, whatever it is she's definitely an enigma.

When I said up there ^^^ the break up that surprised me the most and why I felt that, was Mary's but I put the wrong name, I meant Stacie's marriage. She was one who really seemed to have it all and finding her Father was like the icing on the cake.

I'd not read the interview re Cat and Harry before so I'm still puzzled as to why throughout the show she seemed familiar. It's probably not the answer but I saw in the interview she's been an interior designer. I've watched a lot of uk shows over time re that subject as I find it interesting so grasping at straws I'm wondering if she was ever involved in any of them. Interesting that Bravo didn't film any more Dc's because the other hw's didn't want Michaele in them, so are Bravo saying the other hw's aren't as interesting as Michaele lol.

There must be a reason why we both feel we've seen her before. I have a "thing" about voices and in some cases remember someone just because of their voice. It's frustrating not to know why she seems so familiar

I really missed not having a hw show to watch today

Yellow Rose

Afternoon tv is pretty boring atm. They'll probably start putting on old films soon in the run up to Xmas, I still won't be watching Mary Poppins or Sound of Music though lol.

I read an interview last night...forgot to copy the link and can't remember how I found it. It was Cat slagging off LuAnn, she also mentioned Lisa the English woman from the Beverly Hill's hw's but she likes her. They all live in different States and yet some of them know each other
