I agree Darlo. There are kids, people out there who are really brave. Facing bullying, day in day out. That's what I call brave.

i am more angry at simon cowell giving her a second chance after the producers said no! if she had been older would she have gotten a second chance? nope i don't think so!and everyone knew that she was going to the final when she was in the bottom or is that top 2 no matter who she was up against. as for the nasty comments all over the net about Hollie lets remember she is a 10 year old child that's being pushed along by a stage mum.
boink
Cowell had to give her a second chance really. Who'd send her off stage sobbing knowing that the media would jump on the show for being ruthless to young children? He won both ways: he avoided the bad PR of upsetting cute kids and he got the good PR which is the mild controversy just in time for the final show. The show's not about talent! Talent is the excuse or conduit for the show.

angry for a good reason, that spoilt little brat just cost someone with actual talent to miss out on the final.

and those imbecilic judges moaning about mr pritchards slight vocal issue whilst his cape malfunctioned, then praising the brat after she completely humped the pooch, she wasnt even that good after they allowed her a second go.

I have to say that I honestly don't know why people keep saying she was 'brave'. She is spoilt and precocious, she wanted to be on stage showing off, she was begging to be allowed to start again, stomping her feet and throwing a wobbly until she got her own way. Nobody was forcing her to do that. What's brave about it? When Piers said she was the bravest little girl in the world at the moment I wanted to slap him. Angry There are millions of children out there battling physical, mental and sexual abuse, serious illness, extreme poverty, forced to act as carers and there are many who have no adult protection whatsoever, not to mention the children who are forced to fight in pointless wars. They are the bravest children in the world. That is bravery.

i'm with you on this one tbh. As i said she shouldn;t have got through cause if she was faking cause she messed up forgot lyrics ect thats not fair on the rest of the acts, if she wasn't faking she's obviously not ready. If anyone should be slated (and i know people have done so) it should be her mum, instead of begging producers ect to let her try again she should have been comforting her little girl. Kids these days are growing up so quick we tend to forget how young 10 is. She's just a little girl and all kids love showing off to some extent, how many of us made up songs dances plays and forced our parents to watch. That's all she was doing on a much much bigger scale.

Maybe piers and co were wrong saying she was "the bravest girl in the country" but they were just trying to make a little girl feel better after she has humiliated herself on national television. And there are different forms of bravery. Someone terrified of flying but getting a plane to the otherside of the world to see family they wouldn't otherwise see is brave, but it's a different bravery from someone with cancer determined to see their family grow up. She was brave.

I think she should just be left alone now to get on with the rest of her childhood and not be made a figure of hate.

exactly, and thats why the anger, its about keeping real talent out of the final to prevent a repeat screaming fit, surely it would have been better just to quietly sideline her.

Sorry, I just think people are confusing bravery with precociousness. I wouldn't have WANTED to get on stage and show off in front of people at any age. Bravery is overcoming adversity or fear. I saw no fear in that little girl and she had no adversity to overcome. Yes she had a few nerves but I strongly suspect that every single person who got on that stage had nerves. Nobody is remarking on their 'bravery'.
People are angry because what happened last night was highly emotionally manipulative, on the parts of Hollie, her mother and Cowell. It was simply unfair that she got to start again and it was unfair that people reacted to her emotional state rather than her talent.
