Ratings for Big Brother 2014′s Power Trip ratings were just over one million viewers last night.

But the good news for Channel 5 is that the numbers have slightly recovered from Saturday night’s record low audience of just 900,000 viewers.

The highlights show at 9PM yesterday had 1.2 million, down around 250,000 viewers on Sunday’s show.

The live surprise at 10PM also managed an average audience  of 1.2 million, as Power housemate Pauline delivered her killer nomination and the names of who’s up for eviction this week were confirmed.

Meanwhile, Made On Chelsea over on E4 saw an average audience of 800,000 airing against Big Brother at its earlier time of 9PM.

Despite clashing with BB, the series managed to increase its viewers on last week.

Big Brother had launched with over 2 million viewers last Thursday night on Channel 5.

The show continues this evening at 10PM on Channel 5.

Yes I agree. With a show like this you need consistency. As someone who has to get up early and does not have a recording device if it's on too late I can't watch it all sometimes.

A good job there is not one Saturday night when England are playing as it would probably be half that figure.

Thanks again for the updates Erin

I must say, I'm now watching the football instead.

Good! Seems the nasty behaviour and BB meddling is deterring viewers not attracting them!

I agree Rosie ...and the number  of people posting on the FB clips seem way down to me .

That's another bad sign Baz   Or good sign, depending how you look at it.

It will be interesting to see how BB performs while the World Cup is on - Saturday figures are notoriously low so it could drop even lower tonight.

This year’s Big Brother series could become the least watched EVER to air as numbers crash.

For the past two nights now the show has attracted fewer than a million viewers, including for last night’s first live eviction show.
Crushing competition from the World Cup, which won’t be over for another month yet, has seen figures plummet .
Yesterday’s show was watched by just 900,000 viewers at 9PM while over 11 million viewers were watching Netherlands thrash Spain 5-1 in the latest World Cup match.
It was down almost a million viewers on last year’s show which had seen Sallie Axl go head to head with Gina Rio and Dexter Koh.
Channel 5′s new trashy dating show Stand by Your Man struggled in between the two Big Brother live instalments, scoring just over 500,000 viewers.

Big Brother then returned back at 10:40PM between two football matches for the eviction result and a live twist, where again just 900,000 viewers watched.
The latest episode of Bit On The Side fared even worse as it went head to head with Chile and Australia’s four goal match on ITV from 11PM.
So far this year the series has averaged 1.2 million viewers, down some 400,000 viewers on last year’s first week average of closer to 1.6 million.
Unfortunately for show bosses things get worse tonight as the show clashes with the first England game of the competition.
Bizarrely, despite the game starting at 10:20PM on BBC One, schedulers have not put the show in its usual 9PM Saturday slot but instead decided to air against the match between 10PM and 11PM.

BB started at 10 and I think BB fans hoped it would have the usual 9pm Sat slot ,this would have let fans watch BB 9/10 pm then switch to the game.

I'd prefer to watch Postman Pat than BBOTS.

The only reason I would watch is so that Emma Willis keeps her job, I love her presenting it

I think she is well on her  way to her career  really taking off now.
