The case of a teenage law student who was 20p short of her ÂĢ5 bus fare and was not allowed on the bus.   The bus was at 3am and was the last bus of the night.  The girls was then forced to start walking home and was brutally raped.

I hadn't heard about this case until now.

Now I know the bus driver didn't rape her, but what's the matter with people.  It was 20p and it was 3 in the morning.  How would he have felt if it had been his daughter?

Read that story Cinds and felt so shocked and darn angry...There's video footage of her pleading with the bus driver she had the ÂĢ4.80 but needed a paltry 20p ,she asked to run to the cash point, asked could her mum meet her at her destination,he refused.20 bliddy pence and he makes her leave the bus at 3.00am in -5 temp and the poor girl ended up being brutally raped ,an absolute disgrace of the highest order.

Jen I assume it's the security cameras on the bus,I'll try to find the story ,I read it yesterday and felt sick to my stomach tbh.

That is awful.

Sad that no-one on the bus would give her 20p either.

Ells

Yes it was the CCTV off the bus that showed all of that.

She apparently spent 8 minutes looking through her bag for the extra money she needed.  8 minutes, you would have thought at that time in the morning one of the other passengers would have given her the money, if not out of kindness but so the bus could start its journey.

It makes me sick.

Me too Cinds,TBH I probably would have thrown a fiver at the bliddy bus driver,he's a lot to answer for imo as has every passenger who could and didn't help her out.

Exactly Cind's,no-one knows what's around the corner for us or our own families. That jobsworth bus driver needs a few lessons in basic humanity ,as do the others who did nothing to help her,god I think I'd go away in the mind if I was guilty of something like that.

I read this story earlier, and I couldn't believe that nobody on the bus offered to pay the 20pence. What is wrong with those people?!

As for the bus driver, words fail me.

They are probably holding out for the best scratter paper offer. That's your market economy for you. Can you remember the good old days when all you had to do was give your name and address?

It's so true and such a shame.

As for giving your name and address, why can't they still do that?  They do it on the train.  If someone refuses, then it's quite obvious they don't have honourable intentions.
