I'm not complaining though...lest you think it

We agree

Aimmee I haven't ranted about BB for a while cos I can't make a proper judgement call about the HM's as I am not being shown all the aspects of their personality traits. .it's the gen chit chat that helps you get to know them properly..

I'm fairly sure this and the other thread is not showing me in a good light but I rather people have a good rounded idea of who I am instead of deleting anything I do or say that may be not so nice ..  you get a more rounded personality profile that way and from that can choose whether you wanted to engage that person or not. .make friends with them or not etc..

I think I have a pretty good idea of the sort of person you are Olly!  We don't need a thread that sticks around gathering dust that shows a ranty Olly to know it!

I see we have lost another thread in the last few moments - it wasnt locked - it isnt in troll tank - so assume deleted

could offending/contencious posts not have been removed and the thread left - it was started by one of our regulars and was in context to the current BB series which has another two weeks to go

a polite request

if anyone strolls in and posts offending/contencious posts in the Twitter Thread please consider the few of us spending hours there for our small community and remove - please dont delete the thread - I for one dont always read all what I am posting at the time but do go back and catch up at a later time

not wishing to offend but am a little concerned

MrsH

Can I just say, well handled El Loro.. that's the way to do it. .helpful response followed by a promise to investigate.. .well done

Mrs H hope you don't lose the Tweet thread. .I know only too well how it feels to lose something like that having got banned on C4 once cos some idiot clicked delete the thread instead of post and I'd LUtted all morning all by myself including a task too . .I did my nut in. .as you can imagine .

.got bopped for it but didn't care. .reported myself so they could see just how furious I was..

In all seriousness tho, it's really disheartening..

ps to the rest of the Mods..  if you are not going to use the Troll tank anymore or just leave a thread locked and have changed the ways of modding as in deleting threads all of a sudden please let us know..

MrsH

yep it was. .. .it was a daily one. .they deleted huge long threads in the past too.. before it had a dedicated forum when they were stickies on the main GBBF. .

Just looked at the top at the very far right ..[I never look there] and yes I can delete the topic.. .tho I wouldn't.. .so apologies for getting it wrong but like Ells I was pretty sure it had been stated as one of the recent  changes hence my stubbornness that it couldn't be done..

having said that the two threads I started this about were not deleted by the authors.. so the query still stood as to why this is happening now..

That looks as if there was a software change since the recent changes to be able to delete your own thread even if there were other posts.  If the originator of the Connor's family thread deleted the thread we moderators would not know about it.

I looked for the post I had read it on:

There has been a change for editing your opening post where you have created the topic. You now need to click on Edit this Topic which is on the right hand side after Following this Topic.

Having created a topic, you can delete that topic only if no replies have been made. You can edit your opening post but the topic itself cannot be deleted in the way it previously could.

All I can say here is that there has been no change - lots of threads have been transferred out of the open forum since the forum began.

I think I have not made my point clear enough ..I know threads got invisibled . . and others got locked. . what didn't usually happen is lock a thread. . leave it for a day or so then invisible it.....   that was my point.. and one it wasn't worth making cos I ain't going get a satisfactory response to it anyway. . so forget I ever asked .

.but thanks fro clearing up the delete a thread or not thingy./ .I knew I wasn't going mad but as you say looks like it has changed back again..

Mount Olympus *Olly*

I'm assuming the thread was deleted (accidentally?) by whoever started it. Do we even know who that is? Maybe we could ask that person directly.

Please note that mods won't be deleting threads. They may get moved out of view, but we'll try not to do that if we can avoid it. The plan is to close them and move them to the troll tank.

Since the thread was deleted, I assume it was by the topic-starter.

Lori

For what it's worth, I have never been convinced of the merits of removing threads, I put up with it because I have no choice, lol.

i thought the troll tank was a  good idea, i don't see why that solution is being ignored.

i'm fine about the mods btw, never had any issues or  bad thoughts about them, as yet.

and much as i love you olly and agree in the most part with you, i do think you were a bit 'footstampy' in this thread, regarding mods  and  their replies.

jacksonb

Lori I presume you are talking about the Missing thread Mrs H mentioned. .we know the authors didn't delete the two I was on about, they confirmed that

Jackson. .yes I may have got on my high horse in here but

1] The first Mod to enter didn't start at the top of the thread but answered a question halfway down first

2] When finally answering mine gave an abrupt non answer instead of an explanation about why they were locked for a bit then eventually removed..

Once we know what is going on, as the Mods are from the forum pool and are our representatives, we have every right to say if we feel they are acting out of order especially if they are new to modding  Also we have every right to know how decisions are reached don't we?  I thought the idea was to save OUR forum so surely we get a say in things especially as all the people are coming at things from different spectrum's and theirs may not be represented in the Mod pool...  No?

I know Lori hated me calling Fluffs out on this as she pointed out being pulled up in front of others is not pleasant. .  My last job consisted of this happening once a week to all of us working in a team, either as a team collectively  and also as individuals in front of the team. .usually cos we needed telling if we were becoming the weak links....  it was how we learnt.. or gave us a nod to pull our socks up..

Look at the way El Loro replied to Mrs H's query about another missing thread and look at Fluffs response to me. . says it all really

Sorry fluffs am sure you are a lovely person but I have always doubted your interpersonal skills [ one example is the way you corrected spelling and grammar unasked which is a major problem on a public forum as you have no idea if someone is dyslexic and can easily cause great upset ] and was wary when you stepped forward.. You do better in the techie help side I think rather than the mediation side that Mods require..  you like to keep up with all the changes and helping people out with those.. again IMO only..

I know people hate to see stuff like this written down even if some of them   share some of the views. .but surely it's better  to say how you feel, after all it is our forum isn't it and all I am/have done is be honest?
