over the last couple of days a number of threads were locked. in the old days that was it, they stayed in view but were locked or went to the troll tank locked. .they have disappeared completely.. . Why? We were told nowt would change... 
Surely they are part and parcel of this forum showing FM's warts and all including me? Am not liking this C4 disappear a thread thing

I agree. I also don't agree walking on egg shells to keep the moderators from having to moderate against their former FMs.
I wasn't around very much when that was decided though. 
wouldn't have made a difference if you were Cologne. .despite a majority being against it it went ahead anyway..

yes. .I didn't come across very well in summers thread at all but still that is part and parcel of who I am warts and all. . I get a bad mood day and let it all out. .I object to the deleting of the threads/editing posts etc. . that was the C4 way, I thought we were long past that

You're assuming that the mods deleted...that could be so, but could also be that the originator deleted?

You can delete your own threads, but you now need to click on 'EDIT this Topic' on the left, then you'll get the dustbin icon.
No you;re not dreaming Ells... you can delete the first post you make in a thread but not the whole thread so it had to be a Mod thing. .anyway am not impressed I am being ignored..

I tried it on this one. .only the post option comes up to delete.. but the others were locked anyway so am pretty sure you couldn't delete a locked thread before either..

eh? If I hover over my first post I get the dustbin. .if I click it it comes up with the delete this post? box. .
there is no edit this topic on the left hand side. .I think you may be seeing more due to being a mod. .us normal people don't see the admin permissions stuff..

Sometimes I like to read back what I have posted a day later to chastise myself if I have gone OTT.. that's how come I noticed they were gone. .

You are being pretty harsh, aren't you? Have you ever had a job where people talk about your performance in front of you and criticize everything you did? It kinda sucks.
That thread was removed because it was felt that no good would come of having it there, as some pretty unkind things were said. I'm pretty sure it's not up to you to judge as to whether or not that was the right thing to do. Please don't paint these mods with the same paintbrush as the mods at C4: they are trying very hard to do the right thing, and you're not making it any easier.
Your new mods stepped up to help keep this forum running. It's not an easy job, as I think you know, Ollie. If you weren't willing to step up, then you shouldn't be passing opinion on what happens all the time. Cut them a little slack, maybe?

We would indeed have no forum ,and I would have been gutted.I had a thread locked before and I deleted it .What was the point of a thread being there that no one could post on.
Lori I am sorry but in no way was I being harsh about the way I felt my question was answered [eventually]. .in fact the criticism aimed at the FM's being mods was proved to be correct considering it was a ridiculous and almost pompous sounding response.. I stand by that.. sorry if it is not what you want to hear.. it is certainly not a response I would expect from any of my 10 strong Mod team. .I would expect consideration, a full explanation, no spin doctoring and a good measure of politeness too..
and yes being criticised in front of others is not nice. .I know that.. but I have accepted mine in the past if I know what is being said to be true, sometimes I see the truth on reflection.. sometimes straight away..
as for the content of those threads. .sorry but I may not have engaged the sock puppet but some of it had a ring of truth in it. .but I presume it's to protect the one person as usual..

cos it is part and parcel of the forum history. .tells a story of the forum and it's members. .and not everybody is here at the same time so deleting something means not all members get a chance to form their own opinions.. that is why threads should not be dleted.. IMO only of course

I'm fairly sure this and the other thread is not showing me in a good light but I rather people have a good rounded idea of who I am instead of deleting anything I do or say that may be not so nice .. you get a more rounded personality profile that way and from that can choose whether you wanted to engage that person or not. .make friends with them or not etc..
