Forgive me, I might be being a bit dim here, but is there any easier way to post them than go through the Photobucket (and other type) thing? It's not just a simple copy and paste thing is it? Thanks in advance for any replies

ello onetoo!
I CAN right click>copy then paste directly into the reply box with some pictures.
But... apparently not everyone can do this.
I dunno why this is.

Drat! it didn't work
A simple copy and paste will not work. The result is a blank box which if you look at the WYSIWYG screen just shows the path on your own computer, something like C:\onewoo\mydocuments\imagezdfs25.gif for example. That is merely the path to the image on your pc, not the image itself.
If you try the Inser/edit image icon on the Post Reply screen and try to paste the image there, nothing happens.
The only alternative to using the Photobucket method is to use the Add Attachments option at the bottom left of the Post Reply screen. You can download images on this site's systems.
As an example in this post I have downloaded the samurai penguin I found for Lori. At the foot of this post you will see reference to an attachment. The photo is shown in miniature next to it, but if you clicked on the little photo you would then get taken to a screen showing just the photo.
Having made the attachment, you can now copy the image location by right clicking on the photo which you would see in your posting in the Post or Edit Reply screen, and selecting Copy Image Location. Then paste that using the normal Insert Image method.
Note that unless you have a VIP membership, the original photo size is not necessarily preserved. You also have the fact that the attachment link is shown which makes your posting a bit messy. There's no doubt that it is better to use the Photobucket method.
And here's the image I downloaded, so there is no point in clicking on the attachment link

Thanks El Loro. I guess it's back to PB then which is a bit of a pain and I was just wondering whether there was an easier method
I just right clicked on that in a web page... copied it... and then pressed Ctrl+V in this box
I do use photobucket for my own photos though!

Haha! I've just tried that too, and that didn't work, thanks anyway though. I was trying to post a funny pic I got in a mail and was looking to do it without opening up PB
no probs onetoo!
I know that feeling (the *heeev sigh* gotta open up photobucket & wait for it to upload, then get through the 'create tags' screen that I never use.. palava)

Dirtyprettygirlthing, I tried copying and pasting your Nissan Navura photo from the webpage you found it on, but unlike you, I like onetoo just got a blank box. If I'm copying a photo from another site I just right click on the photo, copy image location and use the insert image icon.
Hi El Loro...
I have always used the page url & put it in the field in the pictures box... I only discovered that I can do a direct copy & past recently... but when some of us were talking about it it became clear that other people couldn't do this.
Any ideas why?

I wonder if it's the operating system thing again. I'm on Vista and I.E.8
I can't just paste e.g
http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q...ierce_brosnan_01.jpg
but if you copy the image location you can paste it into the "insert images" box without saving it to photobucket first ...... which is what I used to think I had to do all of the time at first, I only use photobucket now for images I have created.

But I'm on XP Prefessional and Firefox 3.6.3, so unless Dirtyprettygirlthing uses somthing else, I don't think its the operating system, but a different browser might be the cause so that instead of the copying process copying onto your pc's data it copies on to the browser's own data until you paste.

Hi Hoochie. I think I'm just gonna have to bite the bullet and open PB

its better than IE... much more secure.FF has too many add ons & stuff for me (I used to use it... and its still my back up browser). I like simplicity of Chrome.. & its ease of use (for me)

TBH, I had 'a look' at FF on my old desktop (now on a lappy) and didn't particularly like it. I may think about Chrome

FF allows you to copy the Image Location.IE you have to go through Properties etc,
Also FF ignores a lot of the foibles of IE.

I just ditched FF for Chrome - and I love it Well, I didn't exactly ditch FF - it ditched me It wouldn't load my history or favourites, so I did a system restore. Nothing. I uninstalled and reinstalled. Nothing. Now it won't even open

I had a suspicion that it would turn out that Dirtyprettygirlthing used Chrome when I made my post about a different browser letting you copy pictures direct by copy and paste. I don't know a lot about Chrome but did read that it has an anonymous option so that your browser history isn't recorded on your pc which other browsers do.Apart from the point that if you can surf without data being stored on your pc which seems to suggest that some extremely nasty people could misuse this, I have another concern about using Google Chrome. Not only is Google dominant in the search engine world and can know what you have searched for, by using Chrome as well, Google can know all the websites you have visited. I'm not saying that they do, but surely they could have the facility to be able to target adverts to you which match your usage. That might appeal to some, but personally I find that a bit disconcerting.
I don't know that this does happen - someone else who does use Chrome may be able to enlighten us.
