I used to have a cat just like that when I was a kid Ducky, lovely to look at but basically an evil natured thug, but I loved him.
It's the cat world equivalent of playing hard to get I reckon.

I have another cat that I kind of adopted from my sister. He's the complete opposite..... loving, attentive and very gentle. He irritates the hell out of me!

croc your ruby is lovely the first ive seen with a long tail
You can't see in the pics but she has about 4 white hairs on the end like a thin white paint brush!!

I've heard they don't calm down much as they get older...thought shes quite calm and cuddly indoors...and yours and the only other one I've come across confirm it!
Croctacus
My dearly departed Mitsy, she was a mess when we took her in, all knotted and frail, couldn't even jump as her fur was so knotted all her skin was red raw underneath and scabby...she had a dislocated jaw as well and would only sit on my knee for some reason, i'd wake up and she'd be sat on my chest purring in my face......she passed away 3 years ago at 18...i loved her so much...grumpy little bugger she was though!

I know Ditty, when we let her out, we had to open the door and stand well back, she was that used to getting booted out She came sat on my knee one day and that was that, only my knee though

She ended up getting tumors (stomach & mouth) and couldn't eat, they could've operated and cut half her mouth away but she was so old it was cruel to put her through it...I miss her and I miss her big white hairs stuck all over my clothes...sometimes I'd wake and she'd be licking my face....I was the only one who was allowed to hold her and brush her too....

You not minding the coating of white hairs on your clothes... or her licking your face, and that she trusted you.   Is good she had you!

We had a cat when we were kids... there was a knock at our door one snowy evening, and this couple holding a little white kitten asked my mum and dad if it was ours.  My parents said no, and this couple trundled off.  My parents thought it was odd.  The next morning, mewing outside the door was the kitten.  The couple had obviously dumped her at our doorstep.

It was a bank holiday weekend, so me and my brother went on a mission to get mum to let us keep her... relunctantly mum agreed.   Mum named her Fleur.  She molted really really badly.  You just couldn't pick her up without being coated in white hair.  Also she pummelled, and licked (which hurt) and dripped... all in the name of love!

We kept her though... she must have been about 18 in the end.

Awwww, how could anyone do that! Though maybe she was meant to be with you Mitsy used to hurt when she licked me, her tongue was like sand paper

I used to watch her guarding her patch from the window, she's skulk along the edge of the kerb hiding from the cat over the road...I don't think she realised she stuck out like a sore thumb  you can see she was white but the pic doesn't really show the peach colour she was in patches as well....boy was she grumpy!!!

We had a sealpoint siamese before her, such a difference from pointy face to flat face!
