While I realise there's not much time left to order one. I've seen some really small neat ones on peeps and wonder where they got them

I've had a look as far as I can online and can't seem to find the right thing (I'm not one for doing big and bold)  but still want to show my gratitude,

Can anyone point me in the direction of the small neat ones please?

It's quite an issue isn't it? I have my poppy sent direct from the BL but even though it's a special one it still doesn't stand up to the rigours of daily life. The army cadets were selling them before the game in Rotherham last Saturday, and after the game there were bits all over the floor. I've kept mine in my spex case and will wear it on Remberance Sunday and the eleventh. But I've also considered buying one of the badge types.

The little enamel-type lapel pins are rather nice and tasteful.  I used to have a red rose version that adorned my person at election time.

There seems to be such a vast range and variety of poppies to be had these days, ranging from the usual papery (lost within 20 minutes of purchase) ones to huge, ostentatious and (dare one say it) rather vulgar specimens.

That's where I was going to suggest: www.poppyshop.org.uk/?gclid=CK...js6MECFQjHtAodmisAKg

I have one of the sparkly brooches

That's the one I have, Saz, and I bought lapel pins for the men in the family.

Ah thanks Cosmo. We haven't got an M&S any more though  and not sure I'll get to Newcastle or Sunderland in time.

Annoying thing is....I was covering in our Sunderland office yesterday and decided not to go in there in my dinner hour

Aww, that's a pity.  How about trying the local charity shops if you're strapped for time?  There's probably a few who have more than just the regular poppy.  Or a supermarket, perhaps?
