I felt sorry for Rodrigo because he wasn`t knowingly being offensive to Lisa - yet she didn`t seem to realise its a language thing.

I watched this clip twice and agree that it seemed to be about language. I think Lisa was already fired up by the thought that any HM would nominate her as she had only been up for eviction once. She's as deluded as Charlie.
It was nothing to do with Rodrigo calling "Nosferatu" her, she was pissed off regarding nominations, she's lost control, and was simply taking out her vile frustrations on poor Rodders.
There's a reason why Lisa is single.

She'd have had a go at him no matter what he said. She was looking for an argument.

Nosferatu=German Dracula=Lisa.
I felt it was a bit disingenous that Rodrigo suddenly lost his command of the English language, but it was funny.

Yep
He knew
We got killed as kids for saying her/she so I can see where Lisa is coming from but I don't think Rodrigo realises just how bad it is.
He was riled up and it just came out.

Having taught English as a second language I thought that he was completely consistant.
He would have been taught saying him or her is appropriate when talking about someone and it is.
Normally people who are being insulting when they use him or her do it with inflection, which he didn't do.

OMG the shoulders
It was a language difficulty.
But if he was speaking to David it would be OK to say "her " if referring to Lisa, although as she was present it would also have possible to include her directly.
But I saw it as a language thing.

That's the one.
Have to admit it was rude to pull Rodrigo up on that. They should have just said call people by name not by gender and it probably would have clicked with him.
Having said that, as I see Rodrigo as human excretia I wasn't particularly perturbed.

Humm, even with english as a first language, I cant see why that is insulting. What am I missing???? Lisa is a female, so her/she would be totally proper. Is it some sort of slang thing to consider this rude? If I dont know it, why would Roddy?

Yes it was definitely gratuitous. They could have just explained to him why that could be seen to be offensive but Lisa didn't and David doesn't know what day it is most of the time so can't blame him really.
Good opportunity to explain to a foreign person how English people take things that was bypassed in favour of making him look rude.
But as I said, Roddy as you call him is a complete waste of space so no sympathy from me.

Some people have problems with verbal expression and others with spelling. I guess I can respect both. Hope Rodrigo makes it to the final.

Yep that's her..Note the coat and the uncanny resembelance to Lisa's dressing gown.

When the him or her is stressed (not inflection as I first said ) so it would be something like
I don't want to spend time with her

Not sticking up for him tho I do like him out of that bunch, I just thought it was a very silly attack on him, I could have said the same and would not think it rude. I agree, Lisa was just making trouble in the end.

Yep, they jumped on him. It must have been obvious to Lisa at least that he could see no harm in it and instead of explaining she made a big deal of it. Bit below the belt but I expect she was feeling quite defensive already by then.

Ahh, I see, yes, thank you, I can see now that it is pointed out how that could be seen as rude. Still, lot of fuss about very little and lets see her speak portugese as well as he speaks english, yes?

I think she was just wound up by that stage and would have gone for anything, I suspect she really did think he was being more offensive than he was.
TBH I think Lisa and David had every right to nominate and the pressure put on them was ridiculous. Charlie and Roderigo yelled at Siavash last week for not nominating and felt so sick today at people nominating they wanted to leave (hmmmmmn well they nearly left eh). Basically they just want everyone to do what they say, which of course is crap. Also I seem to remember Lisa was the one person totally unconcerned with Siavash not nominating.

Well there you have it. She has been hated for every reason under the sun that made no sense to me but her attitude to a foreigner who has bothered to learn our language was unforgiveable. Nobody commented on it.
We are lucky to speak a language so many other countries make a point of learning. I doubt it will even make BB news.

It would have been poetic justice in a way if they all had walked out lol. We all knew it was never going to happen. Oh wells

Ah see that's where we disagree, I can see why others don't like her for the nominations manipulating. I don't have a problem with it as I've enjoyed the ride. I think the best illustration of the team nominating was when Freddies total dropped from about 7 to zero in one week. I think she's being honest about not expecting to win and realised her best chance of getting all the way throu was to ensure she was up as little as possible.
At one time they were all talking about going up and Lisa was considering it and Kenneth who obviously knew the score outside took her to on side and very pointedly said you don't want to be up for eviction which she she took on board and backed out of any everybody's up talk.

I think you're giving her too much credit. She's streetwise but not intelligent. Every year I see this, when people they like are voted out they accuse someone of block voting which is technically impossible.
Agree to disagree we must
