stoory - you remind me of 2 people sending `happy new year` texts when they were in the same room.
On the bus a rather loud phone user was giving a running commentary to someone, and getting towards his stop he said "Put the potatoes on love - I'll see you in 2 minutes."
(I bet those 2 minutes made all the difference to their meal.)

I can't stand people walking along while on their phones - for some reason, they seem to lose all sense of what's around them and either get in the way or shout into their sets directly behind other people's ears.

I hate phone-using drivers with a passion. I've nearly been knocked down (on crossings) by them more than once.

And I can't stand phones going off in cinemas/theatres. It's just appalling manners, and a sign of a deeply sad individual if they can't bear to be out of reach even for a couple of hours.

I have also almost been hit by drivers with a phone to their ear....I do answer the phone when i am driving but i use a bluetooth headset and I only have to click the button on it.....I see people driving around on the phone in big fancy cars and wonder if they can afford the car, why the hell can't they fork out ÂĢ15 for a headset?????

Would it be practical for a shop to have a rule stating they would not serve customers who were at the same time using a mobile? A number of forumers clearly think it is rude.
I expect it woudl be difficult for larger chain stores and supermarkets to do this, but I have been in two small local shops where they have signs at the till asking customers not to use mobile phones.  One of them just has a very polite notice asking customers to refrain from using their phone whilst being served.  The other was a little more direct, and said that if the customer was rude enough to continue to talk on their phone when it was their turn to be served, the shop assistant would display a similar lack of manners and refuse to serve them until they had stopped
