I wonder how much you use your mobile phone.
Indeed, do you have a mobile phone?
Do you use it only in certain places, or anywhere and everywhere?
Do you think you use it tactfully and sensitively or indiscriminately?

I have ticked a box which says "Allow user to select multiple answers"  so in some sections  hopefully you will be able to vote for a number of options if you feel the need.

I am sure there are issues about the use of mobiles which I have not mentioned.

Please feel free to expand.

Thank you.

I always have my mobile phone with me when I'm out, but I don't use it much.    I would never use it anywhere where I could disturb other people, such as on public transport, and I would never, ever consider answering it when I was being served in a shop - I think it is SO rude when I see people talking on their phones whilst they are paying for their groceries in the supermarket.   I have never used textspeak when I send text messages, and most people who text me know that I ignore messages if they use textspeak.

I never had a mobile until 2005. Wish I hadn't given in and got one now because now i cant leave the house without it. I hate talking on the phone, really really despise it so i text a lot. I can text without even looking at the key pad (well we got to be good at something). I keep it to my body constantly, if you put it down you never know who might sneak a peak

In the past few months ive ended up with two, dont ask how, but its cause one has free calls and one has free texts its getting stupid.

ÂĢ10 credit will last me years.
My boys like you.  I go him one for his birthday last year, ready for him starting Senior School, it came with ÂĢ10 credit, I topped it up last Christmas for him with ÂĢ20 he still has ÂĢ18.50 credit.  The first ÂĢ10 went because he stupidly text one of those 'get a free tune but we'll take ÂĢ3.50 a week off you anyway' numbers not realising what happened.

I can beat that, Cinds - my younger son got a phone to go to secondary school when he began Year 7, with ÂĢ10 credit. He still has the same phone and about ÂĢ8.00 worth of credit - he is in the 6th form!!

I take my mobile to gigs and the cinema, but switch it off before the show starts. When I get outside afterwards, I switch it on again.

I never answer the phone if I'm being served in a shop, because I've been on the receiving end of that behaviour in the past and it's unbelievably rude!!
On public transport I'll only answer if I'm not near many people, there's nothing worse than someone sitting right next to you going 'YEAH I'M ON THE BUS'

I am on my second mobile, both of them were given to me by friends. The one I have is an old Nokia, probably from the rave era as it lights up different colours when it rings or gets a text and all the tunes preprogrammed in are techno types - apart from the normal Nokia tune (the one Dom Joly has on his giant phone!)
I rarely use it and only put a tenner on it every two months, if that. I only have it because of my severe agoraphobia. It just means that I can call my sons if I feel a panic attack or anything coming on

I have one, I' not entirely sure how to work it...other than sending and receiving calls (oh and I can change the ringtone)...A tenner lasts years (or did till Mr L used it all up phoning BT when there was a prob. with our land-line)

It's never turned on and I never use it.  I'm nearly always home, if someone wants me they can call the house, if it's really important and I'm not in they can call back later.

I only have a work mobile, and only because I have to.

Some of your poll questions didn't take this in to account

I never answer it if I'm with someone, or in a shop, or public place...........that's what the message option is there for.
As for texting.........never sent one, don't know how, and only ever received about two ..........Friends know me, and if they can't get me on the landline, they turn up at the door

I have to get more techy savvy

people dont get it, but i HATE talking on the phone, I have to really need to talk to someone to phone them
And me, there's only a couple of people I enjoy talking to on the phone on a regular basis, but usually I ignore it and text instead. But then I dont even like people knocking on my door or having people over to visit. I'm a right social animal me
