I struggle with this because I really admired the intelligence and integrity of Picard.... and there was drawn to his emotional solitude.
But Janeway is a woman and a half ....she really had guts and wasn't bound by Federation protocols in the interests of her crew or the greater good...I want to be her

You made an excellent commander of our mothership last Summer Hoochie . It was so good the Rexafarians stole it and started a thread with it!

I spent the whole of Thursday and Friday watching the last series of DS9 that I'd Sky+'d whilst doing my decorating. It took me a while to get into DS9 but I did enjoy it..I think Jadzia was my favourite character ... but I haven't watched it as much as the others

Picard...I could listen to him talk for days...hubby on the other hand would say Janeway!
Voted for Jonathan Archer because I Just Love Scott Bakula
Has to be Picard.
Anyone going to see the new Star Trek movie?

If Picard was a real man I'd journey to the end of the universe to help him meet his soul-mate
Hold me back from the movie - I'll be there!

I really liked him in Quantum Leap - and was really expecting/wanting him to do well in Enterprise but it just didn't hit it for me - was a shame they didn't last, I thought the last series was starting to find the way.
Whilst Janeway was a very cool lady and Chakotay a great right hand man, Picard steals the shows for me with the Data sidekick (although technically I guess that should be Ryker).
I actually quite enjoyed Enterprise but could see it was perhaps the not progressing thing which put the kybosh on viewing figures and killed the franchise, although I do think it daft to kill the entire series because of it. I think Archer was possibly the worst of the bunch however, purely because I don't think much of his acting, for some reason that niggles at me because I can't quite put my finger on why.

Some of the cinemas in the Vue chain are showing a mystery film Tuesday the 5th. They are not giving any hints, but it's got a 12A cert for moderate violence and threat and there's only one film on the BBFC website with that description which is due to open soon.
I thought people on this thread might just possibly be interested. Of course I could be wrong.

Will have to have a word with hubby - I reckon my chances are 50/50

Isn't it a shame that there are no real men like him....he's just so noble *sigh*

I just couldn't take to Archer, I don't know why, in fact the only character I did actully like was T'Pol.
yes i've been enjoying DS9 recently - I haven't watched that as much as the others ....for the moment Voyager is still my fav though
I kind of agree with that actually, I have seen a few tv pieces that he has done and I couldn't get into them , and when I saw 'Enterprise' I thought that he will always be remembered for QL!!quote:Originally posted by ~hoochie~:quote:Originally posted by rubychewsday:

If I had to pick my fav episodes, Voyager would probably fill the top ten, But something about the feel of DS9 makes it my favorite overall
! Hey whats the best episode over all the shows? *goes to shed to find episode guides
Voyager was always my favourite. But I watched all of DS9 recently in a very short space of time, and it has totally become my favourite.
Favourite episodes?
Hmm, any of the Julian/O'Brien episodes.
Q episodes.
The Tribbles one.
All of the time paradox ones in fact.
Too many to mention!

I voted for James T Kirk because he was the first student at Starfleet academy to defeat
the Kobayashi Maru test.

There's two episodes that immediately spring to mind - both TNG.
The one where Picard is taken to live a life on a planet that has died so that they are not forgotten - where he gets his little flute.
The one where every man's perfect female is brought on board to be taken to her marriage with the head of another race. She chooses to bond with Picard "Jean Luc Picard I am for you" I could perfectly understand her choice

I'm well impressed! I'm rubbish at remembering detail like that.

Don't be impressed. It's the only piece of Star Trek trivia that I know.
I also voted for James Tiberius Kirk because he was the only Starship captain who... talked... like... this.
I'm just back from seeing the new Star Trek film and it's EXCELLENT!!!! I really enjoyed it and I'm so glad. I sat down with some trepidation and was terrified that I wouldn't, but I did We're going to go see it again on Saturday
I'm seeing James T Kirk in a new light
has to be picard/riker (incidentally marina sirtis (troi) came from not too far from me)
fav episodes
any with Q (the one where he put mankind on trial )
also the one with the game that put everyone under apart from wesley and his girlfriend

Inner light: Oh I love that Episode, Prob. my fav TNG. My fav of all the series is Real Life from voyager(So sad)
I had to look up the episode names on Wikipedia!
Yes "Real Life" was so sad I absolutely howled at it. Really thought provoking story and the Doctor was so brave to go back - who would willingly experience that pain?
Tom Paris is my favourite Voyager character ... I find it very hard to pick a favourite episode but "Course: Oblivion" was very poignant

I had to look it up to, but going through the list, there were very few weak episodes in Voyager (watched Real Life with my young Daughter and she said she had something in her eye at the end
Gotta go with B'lana
I just discovered re runs of the original Star Trek are on at teatime - Beam me up Scotty
