Big fan of Little Ern and Cook.

It's always amazed me that anyone could find Victoria Wood or Morecambe and Wise remotely funny.  When I was little, I always used to dread being forced to watch the Morecambe and Wise Christmas special.

Luuuurve Morecombe and Wise...never get sick of watching them.

Abbott  & Costello  and Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis?
I don't think I ever smiled at either of them.

The Two Ronnies were sooo good....dreading the One Ronnie on xmas day cos I know I'll blub...watched Porridge crimbo special yesterday and got emotional....Ronnie B was a comedy genius....and Ronnie C looks even smaller without him there.

For those who have never heard of Flanders and Swann, here's a clip of one of their best known songs. They were very popular some 50 years ago.

 El, bet it was a bit hit back in the day! How times have changed ......

I left out Flanagan and Allen(not sure who they are, not Dave Allen is it?), Cannon and Ball and Little and Large, because I'm not sure if the latter two double acts would have dated now.....I watched them when I was small but don't know if I'd find them funny nowadays.

I recall Abbott & Costello as a regular school holiday TV filler from my childhood - was never too impressed though. Would Bing Crosby & Bob Hope file under a similar comedy genre as the two partnerships already mentioned?

Why are the Chuckle Brothers not there?!! 




I left out Cannon and Ball, Little and Large, Flanagan and Allen and Flanders and Swann.
(although I often sing the hippopotomas song, so maybe I do like them!  

I used to love watching Abbott & Portillo. 

I voted for Morecambe & Wise, The Two Ronnies and Fry & Laurie. Had they been an option I would have also selected Smith & Jones.

I saw them live a couple of years ago - they are brilliant

Bud Flanagan was the man who sang "Who do you think you are kidding Mr Hitler" - the
title music for Dad's Arny.

I really like Armstrong and Miller although their sketches are hit and miss, I like them both as people. The Two Ronnies are also fab.


I can't stand Vic Reeves but love Bob Mortimer but Shooting Stars has me in stitches. Most of the others on the list I can take or leave tbh.

Morcombe and Wise...brilliant, I also like Victoria Wood and Julie Walters. I'm so looking forward to Victoria Woods new TV thingy about Eric and Ernie the early years...it looks brilliant.

I think the Armstrong and Miller parodies are sharp and accurate, - and a nice compliment to Flanders and Swann.

Fry and Laurie, Cook and Moore and the Two Ronnies for me. I agree with Cold Sweat Smith and Jones should have been on there. They were hilarious.
