Sorry bit ambiguous there. Dame, I agree with all you say.

tis ok Cologne  I think all train of thought went out the window at the mention of the Bullingdon Club

He was known as 'thrasher'.

What a pityful excuse for a man.

I disagree. This would rile people at any time. He called them plebs and morons, that's excluding the swearing. He's not living in times of landed gentry expecting the great unwashed to take their caps off.

exactly and the 'do you know who we are' statement is reflective of most of the cabinet

Dame_Ann_Average

No, he shouldn't go.  He spoke his mind in a moment of stress.  And his mind is that the public in general are beneath him and put on this Earth to bow and scrape to him and his ilk. But he's far from the only one.

I'm sure many many Tories think the same but are too measured to let it slip.  I have no idea if he's a good constituent MP overall, it's up to his constituents to decide.

I'm more bothered about benefit fraud, David Laws, being back in the Cabinet.  He should be in prison and he would be in prison if he was a benefit claimant who did the same.

Don't forget this self-serving scumbag --->

It's been quite a week for the right's class warriors coming out from under their stones.  Just imagine what they'd be like if they had a majority!

Well if that man found THAT stressful, he maybe should try living on not much money and feed a family, pay rent/mortgage etc. Now THAT IS stress .
He should have known better, in these days of trying to get some respect back on the streets for the Police, he was well out of order. If the Government has no, or little respect for the Police, how is it expected that the "minions" do? Should they not lead by example??
Off to my bed after my rant ! x

That's not a rant Sky. A very well worded comment, and I applaud you for it

Bit of light humour if you don't worship coppers.

That`s my take on it.

Ok, he`s up his own posh backside but by some of the news reports, you`d think he`d committed a murrdur.

Well, yes, the Tories are ultra sensitive to this sort of stuff because they know they're shafting the poor while giving tax breaks to their rich mates and still claiming everyone has to take a hit.

It's the politics under the glare of social media.  Mitchell may well be forced to resign for saying something objectionable because he's expendable while Osborne continues to wreck the economy.  Then there's the benefits fraud, David Laws, who is back in the cabinet.  He's perfect for the cabinet as a Lib Dem who's more Tory than many Tories.

Carnelian

I'm not sure that I'm that concerned about the police officer, but Mitchell is one of the worst type of politicians. No regard for anyone. If he thinks a policeman is a pleb, what are the rest of us? I hate this Cabinet for it's Bullingdon Club connections, fagging and thrashing. We live in the real world, they live in an ivory tower. There's nothing 'being in it together', as he said: do you know who I am? I didn't until this and, what's more, I couldn't give a flying monkee's. Politicians should be much more accountable now. There might be more important things around, but if this Government doesn't change, society will go down again as it did in the '80s and '90s.
