My favourite from your list brisket are tulips but my favourite flowers are actually gerberas:




For some reason I'm not keen on daffodils

All of them, apart from lily of the valley. The smell of those things give me an ache behind my nose..

My favourites are white roses, tiger lilies, big copper-coloured chrysanthemums and black tulips.

From that lot, the daffodil....always a pleasure to see them after long winter

Tulips are a close second for similar reasons.

I like freesias and sweet peas, as well.

Alliums are nice:

Can't have lillies in the house their pollen affects my niece,makes her sneeze and the pollen is also poisonous to cats and my rabbits would try to eat them too.

 It's always a good idea to cut the stamens off lilies before bringing them indoors. The pollen can kill cats and even if you have no pets, it stains everything it touches.

Thats what I do deman,if my neice is away for a week or two I can buy lillies,I always cut the stamens off.

I love flowers. I ticked most of them and I love fressias and sweat peas too. Carnations are a real favourite because they remind me of my nana, who grew them in her garden.
Not keen on lilies though.

What do those smell like?  

It's a lovely smell Deman - honestly. 
I've planted some trailing ones in my hanging basket at the back door - I wouldn't do that if they were stinky.

I ticked daffodils ... like the others they speak to the joy of spring for me as well. I ticked bluebells also, I love walking through the woods when the bluebells are out ....there's something magical about it.

me too - got some gorgeous  ones from Tesco yesterday for £3 for 10 stems ... they are fabulous

Rexi, I've got loads dotted about the house but they are all artificial - nothing like the real thing though

I liked loads of those but was very good (unlike baz) I only chose one  magnolias - I have a lovely white one that appears quite early but daffodils/tulips were close

When we lived in our old house there were a couple that used to bloom in the corner of the garden and my husband used to find it hilarious that I got all annoyed about them

bizarrely that collection of flowers contains most of the ones I don't like!

Miss S - I don't like daffodils either... I can just about tolerate the very very small rockery ones.

I like SOME tulips... Queen of the Night... and Raspberry Ripple are the two in my garden.

I am a sunflower girl... I love sunflowers & all the flowers from that family... daisies, Shasta Daisies, ...  I like flowers with the standard flower shape.. middle & petals!

like lilies.. but am about to dig my beautiful ones up and bin them... I just can't keep on top of the lily beetles any more...  I give up!

I suppose the fact that I have quite heavy clay soil.. and so all these flowers grow well could influence my preferences.

the first year I started gardening Ros, I didn't have a lot to spend on it... so I planted over a hundred sunflowers... lots of different varieties....    the big brother with eugene on it was on... when they were in the secret garden... my sunflowers were halfway up and it looked just like the secret garden.  they were fab when they all flowered.

I have grown my mum some perennial ones from seed two years ago... she has them up the fence that runs down the side of her garden.... they should be really really good this year...

He's fine,still can't get at his overgrown claws,he's still climbing the bars of the cage though I have to give him a punt up sometimes to reach the upper level..bless.his little back legs sometimes go like he's on a bike as he tries to hoist himself up.Little booger won't go  the easy way up via the ladders.

I like Roses, Carnations, Mangolias (as we call 'em in the Joe household) and Pansies represent the best value for money. One small plant and within weeks many little faces.

My favourite flowers are carnations bluebells which always reminds me of Scotland (bluebell woods) and snowdrops, in my garden I have two wisterias one with gorgeous long blue flowers and the other with white flowers they have just started flowering,I agree Joe about pansies they are good value for money, I like pansies I always buy them and put them in pots hanging baskets

I have one tiny little clump of snowdrops, which never seem to spread or expand, but I am always pleased to see them emerge. Year after year that little clump never fails to appear, and never fails to bring a smile to my face. They give me an optimistic feeling.
