Well...will Darling have a job in a weeks time then???
I honestly think Gordon should go now, Alistair Mcgowan should take over as chancellor, Michael Sheen and Rory Bremner should form the cabinet! I also hear there a few latex politicians unemployed and stuffed in boxes in ITV.
GB twice fails to asnwer direct question over future of Alastair Darling as chancellor
What policies does Dave Scameron actually have?
I used to have these nah nah na nah nah conversations with my sister when i was about 6

I am so glad I am not the only one who thinks of kids in the playground when watching this
Is Hazel Blears in the Chamber - I can't see that she is?
Then why not call his bluff, call an election! Then see what is on offer from each of the parties.
Vote Dobby the House elf

She'll be packing her Gucchi bags, you know, the ones she claimed on expenses.

Maybe Darling still has a lot of outstanding work to do on his In Tray.
You know, stuff like making sure all his Inland Revenue Compliance Tax Inspectors have carried out all their special enforcement mandates & have collected all revised tax liabilities & all the accompanying Late Penalties due from Joe Public

Precisely what Cameron said: I'm glad you don't like the policies of the Conservative party. Perfect reason to call an election, see what the public think

yes, the same ones labour had under b lair when he was in opposition, that is none at all except vague ideas and let the party in power do all the damage to itself.

thats kind of not fair since b liar stole the tory's in the first place to become electable. so cameron isnt stealing blairs, just reposessing his own parties.

What's the point of having policies? There's no money left. After Gordon has left, it'll have to be a massive and very very painful repair job like Mrs Thatcher had to do in 1979.

Reposessing his own parties 'what' exactly? I haven't heard a single policy. Lots of blather and shouting but nothing we can actually vote for
PMQ winds me up I can't watch it anymore. Whenever I see an MP taking a high ground or claiming to be "in touch with the people" I think about the recent expense scandel and it sends me into a rage.
The to-and-fro between Brown and Cameron is boring now. If you've seen it once, you've seen it everytime. It's a waste of 10 minutes. Nick Clegg's questions are always more interesting, but Brown refuses to answer them, instead he lists labour compiled statistics about how great they're doing.

Political parties have a theme as well as policies.
The modern Tories are social conservatives and economic libertarians. They're interested in political nationhood, preferring a European trading group rather than political union. They are instinctively inclined to a small state, with demand-side, laissez-faire economics, and private industry. Socially, they usually favour slow change and try to hold on to social institutions. From a welfare point of view, they tend to see the state as something that provides the bare essentials to stop people starving and leave it up to individuals and private interest groups to organise themselves.
Cameron seems to wobble variously between the traditional tory position, one-nation toryism, and something a bit more socially democratic, depending on the issue. There's obviously some convenient populism going on there.
So, I think there's plenty there for deciding whether to vote Tory or not even if specific policies are not always set out.

its sad but true, we've gone from economic stability to massive debts and its all got to be paid for.

I wouldn't want to take over the driving seat after Labour have dragged us so far down in the mire.
It's going to be one helluva job getting back out again!

I agree Hyacinth. It's also not going to happen straight away. It is going to take years to get us out of the mess Labour have put us in. I just hope if the Conservatives get in, the electorate are patient.

yup, same one maggie had in 79, still its something the torys are good at, its whether the voters are astute enough to understand.
