I agree Renton ... Although I like all scones , plain or not

But have you ever chosen a plain when the other imposters are on the shelves?

Cheese does not belong in scones. Fact. Maybe the odd small piece of dried fruit or glacé cherry. But you can't beat home made dry crumbly scones mit double cream and berries.

I just had a cream tea and damn the late hour !!!

Not off the shelves Renton, but hot buttered scones (straight from the oven ) are yummy

I've never liked cheese in a scone - its an odd association

Without the plain scone you wouldn't have any other scones ,so all hail the plain scone .

However - of late i have noticed a dirth of clotted cream selection in our major stores

Is it a sly move towards limiting our naughty choices? hmmmm

I had to settle for "extra thick" last night

If you can get it, Roddas clotted cream is the way to go
