Yep.
Scum.
Surprises me why Rebekah Wade is still employed by NI.
Unbelievable.
Shame on them.
Still find it hard to believe Andy Coulson knew nothing about the phone tapping.
The MP behind this latest story is also suggesting that Sky News got one of their stories regarding the Soham murders (i.e. Ian Huntley) from the hacked phone of one of the parents.
Separately, Colin Stagg (falsely accused of Rachel Nickell's murder) has been approached by police as a potential victim of hacking.
It really looks like the whole of News International (not just their papers) are in this up to their necks. And yet yhe government is still sucking-up to Murdoch over the purchase of Sky...
TBH, I've been predicting this for a while. The celebrities have been getting all the attention because they have the money to take NI to court, but it was obvious that if phone hacking was as widespread as it appeared, they must surely have been hacking phones involved in major criminal cases as well...
I wouldnt put anything past the scumbag gutter press. And the way that the Dowler family have been treated is shameful. By the courts and the press.
I find the whole thing disgusting, and very shameful. N.I. need a good shake up by the government, and Murdoch and his gang need to pi** off.

and pigs might fly Smarting, I'm convinced they all knew what was going on.
Disgrace. And to delete messages and give the family hope..
Scum indeed.Deleting messages from her distraught parents and friends, they should through the book at him.
News of the world(there's a misnomer for a start)is scum..alas they have a market for publishing shite...even if they are brought to book about it etc ,they have a "fighting fund" to see them through.
Murdoch etc is in bed with Cameron just now..bloody sickening.Vomits....
Disgrace. And to delete messages and give the family hope..
Yes.... it's disgusting.........
Cameron and Milliband were at Murdocks summer party in June.
I read Sugars book... seemed to big up Murdoch through the whole thing, done all sorts of deals with him in the past aswell. Tossers the lot of them.
The tabloids have forgotten to cover this story, apparently!

Well the Daily Mirror has covered it - at least going by the online version. No trace of it in the Sun though - funny that...
They were commenting on this on Newsnight: the tabloids have been desperately trying to keep the whole scandal quiet for ages, and when they do cover it, they try to make out it's only about rich celebrities. It seems unlikely they can keep that pretence up for much longer, though.
What I've found interesting is the coverage of the story on Sky News. They're really stuck in a bit of a bind: they have to cover the story to appear impartial with the potential sell-off coming up, but it clearly doesn't sit easy. For example, they have it as one of their main stories online, but - unlike the other lead stories - they won't let you comment on it...
Lets just see if any evidence surfaces soon proving that Sky have led in the past with stories provided by NOTW hackers...
It's all very dodgy, Eugene.
I do think we need a far reaching inquiry into how far this has gone.
I was really shocked when I heard this on the news and sick to my stomach when I heard they deleted messages giving the family of a murdered child some hope that she was still alive... and also possibly meaning that the Police investigation into her disappearance would have taken a different turn if they too took the deleted messages as a sign she was still around and had run away rather than been taken.. .
it it truly disgusting.. Murdoch and all of his associated companies should be heavily sanctioned. .they seem to think they are above the law and do anything they want regardless.. it's like they are trying to take over the country sometimes .. fingers in too many pies. .too controlling.. completely shocking practices
WHEN lining a litter tray with newspaper be careful or you might accidentally get some News Of The World on the cat shit.
*stolen from twitter*
oh yeah,
robert peston has been informed thats theres worse stuff to come regarding the hacking!
i know the cops are now in touch with the sohams kids parents cos they were hacked aswell-so if anyone has shares in the NOTW i'd sell 'em..now
Fords has just announced they are withdrawing their advertising in NOTW until they are satisfied with the outcome of the investigations.

And now they are considering whether people surrounding the Soham Murders have had their phones hacked too

Well, it was implied yesterday that one of the parents had their phone hacked. TBH, if I had to suggest one crime that might have been targetted by the NOTW, it would be that one. Apparently the police suspected something at the time, but couldn't prove it.
However it goes much, much wider than that. It now seems that a policeman investigating a murder was tagetted, and even Sara Payne (the mother) appears to have had her phone hacked, and she was supposedly working with the NOTW...
Seriously, there should be no surprise here: they were hacking on an industrial scale, so obviously they wouldn't stop at celebrities. If anything, "ordinary" members of the public are better targets as they're less able to sue if things go wrong. Personally, I think anyone involved in a major crime investigation over the last 15 years (at least) is a possible victim.

Basically echoed exactly what I wanted to say really... And I can't believe that that bloody boss woman with the long shaggy hair is saying she knew NOTHING about it. Lying cow.
Jon Snow giving Simon Greenburg a grilling on C4 news about Rebekah Brooks leading the investigation in her actions whilst editor of the NOTW.
And I can't believe that that bloody boss woman with the long shaggy hair is saying she knew NOTHING about it. Lying cow.
I would rather that they went to the top and declared Murdoch persona non grata.
A little disingenuous of Sky there: the BBC and C4 have already reported that Ford have pulled their advertising - the others are still "reviewing".
Tesco's the biggy there, though. It was them threatening to withdraw their advertising that brought down Sullivan's attempt to turn the Daily Star into a soft porn mag (basically a precursor of the Daily Sport) back in the 80s...
And I can't believe that that bloody boss woman with the long shaggy hair is saying she knew NOTHING about it. Lying cow.
Rebekah Brooks is in a no-win situation now. If she really didn't know about it, then it means she was an incompetent editor, with her workforce totally out of control.
TBH, the "incompetence" line isn't all that implausible: even other NI execs consider her a "lightweight" in business and journalism. Her real strength is "networking", hence close friends such as "call-me-Dave"...
