A musical genius but obviously a very disturbed individual.

I wonder if some sort of psychiatric institution would be more appropriate than prison ?

nope, prison is for those who murder (except mayeb oj Wink).

a case could be made that anyone who kills someone else must have something mentaly wrong with them but there are a great many people who have genuine mental issues that still wouldnt kill anyone.

Psychiatric place is where he needs to go, but he comitted the crime so he must do the time Nod. He was so confident because of his status he would get not convicted but obviously the jury had other ideas, all the evidence pointed towards him and he couldn't worm his way out of it. Heard some of his music stuff, it's really good but he's a disturbed man.

Yes, anyone who denies his contribution to music production is simply declaring they are clueless imhyco

I said that he was a one trick pony.

Well the wall of sound was his signature sound radically different from the usual approach to making pop records in his day, not sure it's fair to say he's a one trick pony. He was a pioneer. albeit a looney as well.

With me it was The Kinks.

I love the Kinks & The Wall of Sound. I'm very eclectic. Big Grin

I like 'em both too. I'm just saying that at the time I remember hearing the Kinks and thinking that, "This is my music!"

Excuse me for going slightly off topic but..

One thing I find rather strange with celebrity trials (OJ, Spector..) is the value of forensic evidence. When we hear about trials involving the average man on the street, it is presented as proof positive. Pour in a bigger budget and it seems to become less and less of an exact science.

That said, didn't buy Phil his freedom.

Spot on Comrade....

The famous musician David Gilmour CBE, formerly of Pink Floyd, is supporting Gary McKinnon's cause, by helping to sing on a Protest Song, which will hopefully penetrate the massive "security" and media hype surrounding President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Gordon Brown, which is frightening off so many peaceful democratic protestors from the G20 summit in London next week.
