Puff pastry parmesan/cheese straws
You could make parmesan biscuits.
I use the vegan parmezana, put it in homemade bread and pastry when I'm making summat savoury like a quiche or pasties etc so I imagine the proper stuff works as well.

bbc.co.uk/food/recipes have got some nice recipes using parmesan.
Essential for finishing pretty much any risotto.
Very good shaved onto squid with a splash of balsamic.
Same again (with the balsamic) on some asparagus - one forthe seasonal fans.
Mandatory in a proper caesar salad dressing.
On the tomato, under the mozarella on a pizza.
Keep the rinds of spent chunks btw. Throw them into a slow cooking stew or soup and they release a great savoury flavour.
Good to think of it as a seasoning as much as a cheese. It's choc full of umami.

Cheese on toast!!!
Sorry that's as far as my cheese-expertise goes and I'm assuming even that suggestion is no good as I doubt it would be any good on toast.

Love it on soup, especially Minestrone, or as someone said, make little puff pastries with it mixed in. I feel hungry now.......

I think I really need to sample a 'good' risotto' - it really never does it for me TBH - but then again - I'm not a big lover of rice.
Anyone got a good recipe?

Hi AV *mwah* xx
I get mine in my local health food shop but I have seen it in Asda and Sainsburys in the past in their 'free from' aisles
They also sell the Cheddareze (sp) which is in the same tub thing. You could try Holland and Barrett I guess if you don't have a health food shop nearby
Thanks, Veggie.
I don't normally shop in H&B but I will pop in there xx
Yes the smell is vile .........................the secret is don't sniff - you have to get beyond that.
I <3 parmesan
Finely grate it and mix it into breadcrumbs and freeze. You can put it frozen on top of pies and bakes
Now that sounds really and truly yummy..........................far better than my made up thing.
i will so be making some of these!!!
They are lush.
When you make them please don't tell me or show me. I'm being good.
