A lot of murderers show remorse Yogi, this to me doesn't have any relevance. She's a probation officer who read something in the paper and left her heartbroken...I wouldn't be surprised if she's not wearing her support Oscar badge under her cardigan  I bet Nel's regretting the day he didn't bring on witnesses to repute some of OP's character, because there are quiet a few of them  I'm not that bothered that the judgie allowed it, she is covering herself in case of an appeal, but to me its no relevance.

I think it's possible to show remorse, even if you have killed someone, on purpose, in a fit of rage.

However, I don't think the absence of certain, specific words denotes a lack of remorse - which is what Nel appears to be saying.

I don't think this witness helped, or damaged the defence.
