yes...seems the defence are the least organised...even to the point of having witnesses there on time and they being useless

Ahem, I remember Nel asking for an early finish because he ran out of available witnesses.

WHY HASN'T TRIAL HEARD FROM PISTORIUS'S HOUSEKEEPER?

Questions were being asked today about why the trial has not heard evidence from Oscar Pistorius's housekeeper after it emerged he was there on the night of the shooting.

Carice Viljoen, one of the first witnesses to arrive at the athlete’s villa, told the court today how she was met by a man called ‘Frank’ - his Malawian live-in helper - at the front door.

Her testimony suggests he was the closest person to the shooting and could have crucial evidence about the fateful night.

His unexpected mention stunned those following the trial who took to Twitter to express their disbelief.

Aislinn Laing, South Africa correspondent for the Daily Telegraph, tweeted: ‘Astonishing, but again perhaps an indication of SA attitudes, that we’ve heard nothing until now about the nearest person to what happened.

'"Frankie" is a Malawian man who was Pistorius' live-in help. Why hasn't he given evidence?'

Andrew Harding, the BBC’s Africa correspondent, tweeted: ‘Viljoen briefly mentions athlete’s housekeeper - presumably black, and the invisible figure in this case.

‘Housekeeper’s name is Frank. Note - only first name used. Hint of the ‘upstairs downstairs’ divisions that still lurk in post-apartheid SA.’

Another user, Jennifer James, added: ‘Frank worked for #pistorius at the house. Why haven’t we heard his testimony?’

I'm not blaming Roux Yogi but it's a bit bad that 1) there weren't enough witnesses despite being warned and 2) that none of them knew it's a bank holiday for them on Wednesday as it's polling day

that's interesting Erin cos I was sure he had a live-in housekeeper but then again, why would't 'Frank' look after the dogs and house when OP was away? and would Reeva have stayed there on her own with just the housekeeper? - could be that he doesn't actually live on site all the time I suppose
