If Nel doesn't come up with the smoking gun, I'm still not persuaded with the premeditated verdict...although there is no doubt he should be found guilty of Culpable Homicide and he should get some jail time. Although this is SA and he could walk free and that in itself would be an injustice. I also think he's a liar and a control freak...but premeditated murderer I'm not convinced about as yet.

darn it I nipped to the post office to send a birthday pressie and get some sweetners and thought I'd be back in time - what have I missed?

not a lot...but he had time to think about his options...doesn't bode well for his defence when he had time to think what to do!

the other thing that I think will damn him and I'm erring on culpable homicide here is the bullets used.  If you wanted a gun for self defence - you would usually fire a warning shot anywhere but at the person and only shoot if they moved towards you?  But those bullets were designed specifically to cause maximum injury if not instant death as they expanded so why have them loaded?

I totally agree...and if you watch the youtube video of him on the firing range I could well imagine why he bought them Pengy.

yes I saw her...but how traumatic for them and I have no doubt that OP is devastated. whether he is guilty or not, he must had massive regrets
