Masipa also points out that the ability of the accused to foresee the result of his action must also be considered

Masipa says defence referred court to a number of cases but judge doesn't think they're on point.

Masipa does pay special attention to Voster case - employer shot domestic worker's grandchild thinking it was an intruder.

Judge more impressed by a case cited by state.

Masipa: the loss of life cannot be reversed - hopefully the sentence today can provide closure for the family and all concerned.

so she brought the crap that Oscar Woscar is remorseful

Masipa says in the Voster case thee was only 1 shot fired, in Voster aim was to frighten intruder, not shoot as OP MV

REALLY not impressed by reference to Vorster case, but she's pointing out discrepancies

The only similarity between the cases then is the post fact remorse. The facts are almost polar opposite. No way sentence can be the same.

Judge raises blood pressure again by describing another sentence of eight years, with a portion suspended. We're still not at Pistorius ..

I think so

Judge, now agreeing with Nel, says too lenient sentence might prompt public to lose faith and take justice into own hands.

Judge rules out suspended sentence for

Judge says she wants to ensure Pistorius will remain a useful and productive member of society. Inching towards a conclusion now.
