Masipa: from evidence in mitigation, became clear that concerns around Pistorius need for psychological treatment for trauma

Masipa: There is no cause to believe the accused would be forced to terminate his current treatment or relationship with his doctors.

"No reason to think would have to terminate treatment or relationship with own doctors" KNOCKING DOWN DEFENCE

Masipa believes that will be treated correctly by DCS if he is sentenced to prison.

he came across to me anyway, as an honest, reliable witness with up-to-date information

yes, I think the government intervention must have been taken seriously and Zuma speaking out yesterday  She's not been taken in by pathetic attempts to make him out totally incapable of doing things for himself

Masipa turns to OP's contribution to society - she says he gave time and money MV

Ironically, Masipa lists OP's mothers view that he should consider himself as able-bodied. This could be to his detriment now.

Masipa: “Yes the accused is vulnerable but he also has excellent coping skills, thanks to his motherâ€Ķ”

Judge says he inspired numerous other disabled people and that 'cannot be ignored' but ought to be put into perspective

it sounds to me like it might be custodial *gets on knees and prays*

After everything she has said so far, I'll be amazed if she doesn't give a custodial sentence.

Feels like we're building up to a crescendo here.

Masipa says OP shot 4 shots into the door - OP said he would have fired higher if he wanted to kill, court accepts it MV

But Masipa adds that the toilet was small, and OP was trained - this is very aggravating MV

Judge: "He knew the toilet was a small cubicle and there was no room for escape for the person behind the door."

I can't work her (M'lady) out

sounds like now she's going against the state

Masipa:"This court accepts as a mitigating factor the conduct of Pistorius after the event which indicates he wanted the deceased to live."

Huh: "he thought there was an intruder was in the toilet"...

Judge says she can take vulnerability into account for sentencing - rejecting a key prosecution argument.

It is a fact that negative media reports may affect their reputation and career, says

I hope Nel swiftly puts an appeal in quickly if he doesn't get custodial...Masipa actually changed the law in her judgement

I think he will. He's still smarting from the CH verdict
