If the call history was deleted, how can we know for certain this call took place? Has the girl in question come foward to say OP phoned her and do her phone records confirm it, or is this an unsubstantiated claim?

I think by the time they relalised the deleted call was to her it was too late to bring it into evidence, I can't possibly see the likes of Barry Bateman writing this if there was no proof to substantiate it. The family said they are not aware of anything deleted that would be relevant to the case...why delete them then and no denial of deletions

I'm not sure but from what I understand deleted calls/messages are still stored on the network servers (someone with more knowledge will be able to tell us)

however this statement : By the time it was given in, its entire call history had allegedly been wiped- this to me shows why the phone was taken and given back only once wiped.  It is tampering with evidence and I feel whoever did it, should have been charged irrespective of whether what was on it was relevant to the crime or not.  It formed part of the crime scene and should have been preserved until discounted

Barry is a journo of the most impeccable kind - there is no way he would state something unless he had the evidence to back it up - he said this back on 2 October so wondering why people are only talking about it now????

yes I heard it earlier Pengy, I think because it's now confirmed since the books release more weight seems to be behind it, as you say he's a very respected journalist and I can't see what he would have to gain by putting it in print, especially to incur the wrath of the mega rich Pistorious family who could sue at the drop of a hat

 Thanks Dame.

We could be forgiven for wondering why the family deleted anything that wasn't relevant to the case and/or incriminating?
