Kim Martin is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met. So brave of her to take the stand.

Martin says June was hysterical - someone was looking after her, she was very medicated MV

This is the definition of a victim impact statement: "It's ruined our family. It's ruined Uncle Barry and Aunt June. Reeva was everything."

Martin's testimony has reduced several to tears - Sam Taylor, her mother Trish, Gina Myers, Kim Myers..all sobbing

she's the wow factor for want of a better word - a seriously good witness to voice the impact of how this has affected the whole family

RSteenkamp's father "would love to take stand but can't..." says Martin. June wipes her eyes in court.

Martin: I spoke to Barry and June last night ahead of me speaking here, they said I must be Reeva’s voice. BB

the impact it's had on this family is devastating and Roux is asking for a slap on the wrists

RT : Martin reveals her massive mental anguish, which forced her and family members to get treatment for anxiety and depression

Heartbreaking testimony from Reeva's cousin about the dramatic effect he shooting has had on whole family

Martin talks about Reeva Steenkamp's involvement in issues of women's rights and abuse.

That is the first time I have seen her give way to emotion too...none of OP's family have showed any emotion through this and OP only did when he came back from the break...which I would have bet my last pound on after the DT had words with him

Martin: She was involved in women's empowerment. "Her thing was she wanted to stop girls allowing themselves to be in those situations."

Does Aimee Pistorius only have one expression? How can she sit there hard faced with this testimony?

Martin is calmer as she talks about Reeva's passion for womens' rights and helping them escape abusive relationships.

Martin: It was the first year she had not spent Christmas with her parents.

doubt he'll care - he's only ever been in it for the money imo - technically he won because OP wasn't charged with murder so for him it's job done let's get a non custodial and I'll spend all the money you've paid me OP

my opinion of Roux as never faltered

Dame_Ann_Average

Martin: I remember thinking he was a very nice person. I didn't notice much affection between 2 of them.

Martin noticed Pistorius got agitated at slow service, Martin noted there wasn't much affection between them.

so Roux is not going to cross but ask 2 questions

He walked away to take call, I asked Reeva if she was happy - she shrugged, said 'we have to talk' Martin says it's bothered her

why have we got to rush Reeva's part of the case...this happened last time

Dame_Ann_Average

So Roux confirms, no real cross examination. Hardly a surprise to be fair.

the comment about a lack of affection between Reeva and OP is pretty striking - this was only a month before he shot her yet he was wanting to marry her

down to Masipa being unavailable for the next 4 weeks and she did warn both sides it should finish this week - I read it could take as little as under an hour for her to reach her sentence because she doesn't need input from the two jurists

I never believed that for one moment...the house he had viewed before he met her, yet in his testimony it was for them. If it was for them in December, why did she have nowhere to stay!!! he's an out an out liar

I'd say she's been paid to come to a satisfactory conclusion

Phew that was another long catch up. .thanks ladies

Sounds like the sentence has already been agreed with the Judge and the defence team hence the yawning going on through this process, which is really only for show not anything else. .Sounds like Judgey doesn't listen very well either or has selective hearing when it suits her.. must have been paid off

Will miss this thread when the case officially finishes although do hope the Prosecution appeal the slap on the wrist sentence and it's televised and you lot can resurrect this thread again

I'm not normally one for conspiracy theories and the like but in this case I really question her decision and whether she was paid off   it's been touted a lot that M'lady doesn't like Gerrie Nel and this is impacting on her decisions?????

I will miss the thread as well
