I've read loads over this last week....and more and more of his testimony isn't adding up for me Pengy.
the trouble with SA is they have a habit of rehabilitating their sports superstars and OP is one of them. I'm wondering if he'll get off with a very light sentence. They are more likely to forgive an Afrikaaner than an English South African (English speaking) I was gobsmacked reading stuff about how much distrust there still is between Afrikaaners and English SAs the hate is still there. One only has to think some of their recent sports stars who have virtually got away with it - such as cricketer Ntini accused of rape, conviction squashed, James Dalton aka Bullet accused of trying to drown his wife (case postponed so many times it was thrown out in the end), Hansie Cronje - fraud with Indian bookmakers despite being a pious Afrikaaner boy - motto What would Jesus do? Even today despite dying, Hansie is still considered one of the most influential South Africans
Two of my all time favourite South African rugby players (I'm nuts about SA rugby and follow The Blue Bulls (Blou Bulle) avidly) have shocked me - Japie Mulder fined for 'interfering' with his best friends 14 year old daughter - a fine FGS!!! And my absolute favourite rugby player James Small exposed as a drug/alcoholic wife beater must be something in the psyche left over from apartheid or the fact that these knobs are put on such a pedestal
all of the above are still considered heroes by the SA public
