@@@Carr says that if you look back over OP's history this is not a new pattern ! Number 1, a pattern of poor impulse control, pattern of pattern of aggressive behaviour and one of the things that didn't come out in the Trial is OP's behaviour under the influence of Alcohol ....... because it's reasonable to expect that there was some alcohol involved in this incident.? yes, ..tequila.

and also Oscar's pattern of describing situations is as if he wasn't involved, he's always the victim, these things always happen around him- and that seems to be consistent with his pattern of behaviour......The another thing is that one would expect, that not only about now, but leading up to the trial, especially someone in his position, especially someone who's so conscious of his 'image' in the Media would have been more circumspect in where he went , what he did ............

Remember, this is a man who's changed his Defence on the stand, who's blamed his Legal Team for mistakes, and virtually called his Legal Team Liars - and so he's clearly not someone who bends to other peoples authority, you know,.....he tends to do his own thing !!

I think when you put yourself in the media, you open yourself to people coming up to you, asking you questions , challenging you about issues..... it goes with the territory of being a Celebrity.

If you take that incident that happened at the party, when he kicked that woman out of the Party - and they reached an out of Court settlement, you know, it sounds like a similar kind of situation, where there's a public incident...... Oscar loses his cool whatever the provocation is , and doesn't seem to have a regard for the effect that's going to have on his reputation......, and the sense of being untouchable "this isn't going to affect me ultimately" @@@

Pistorius Engaging In 'Self-Harming Behaviour'

The family of Oscar Pistorius have said the athlete has engaged in "self-harming behaviour" as they hit out at claims he was involved in a nightclub brawl.

The athlete's uncle spoke out about his fragile emotional state as he dismissed reports that he poked a man in the chest during an altercation in Johannesburg.

Pistorius has denied getting into a "bar brawl" with Jared Mortimer, who he claims "aggressively interrogated" him in the city's VIP Room club about his trial.

Leo Pistorius said the family felt compelled to challenge "outrageous claims" made about the incident, which happened days after the final evidence was heard in his trial for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

He said: "Whilst Oscar venturing out into a public space with his cousin, in the current climate and whilst his court case is still under way, was unwise, those of us closest to him have been witness to his escalating sense of loneliness and alienation.

"This, we believe, is underlying some of his self-harming behaviour.

"As a family we are counselling Oscar to find ways to deal with his feelings of isolation.

"At the same time however, we cannot allow one man's untrue version of what happened to stand unchallenged."

Mr Pistorius denied his nephew was the aggressor in the incident and claimed witnesses could back him up.

e added: "We do however believe that Oscar is grappling with an extreme level of emotional pain that is manifesting itself in some of his recent unwise actions and choices."

Reports of the row emerged after Pistorius broke his silence on social media by posting a series of messages on Twitter.

He posted a collage of himself posing with children and a passage about how a man in "utter desolation" can still "achieve fulfilment".

Pistorius, 27, claims he heard an intruder in his house and was "in fear for his life" when he approached a closed toilet door and fired four shots through it, killing Ms Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day in 2013.

The double-amputee, known as the Blade Runner, will be back at Pretoria High Court on August 7 for closing arguments before the judge retires to consider the verdict, which could take several weeks.

He faces between 25 years and life in prison if found guilty.

I predicted that before he was sentenced OP would have a 'breakdown'  I think we're heading to that territory now

I like this reporter, I read quite a bit of what she writes and she's normally spot on with facts, so I am tending to believe this report

Oscar Pistorius, the paralympian on trial for murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, drank tequila shots, socialised with a known violent offender and had scantily-clad women sitting on his knee before the fight that led to him leaving a nightclub on Saturday night, it has been claimed.

The athlete confirmed he was at the VIP Room in the exclusive Johannesburg suburb of Sandton on Saturday night but denied being the cause of an altercation with a racing driver and clothes store owner named Jared Mortimer, saying Mr Mortimer had "aggressively engaged" him about his trial.

Mr Mortimer claimed the athlete was introduced to him by a mutual friend named Guil Yahav, a former bouncer turned professional poker player who in 2002 admitted slashing another bouncer across the face with a knife shortly before he was murdered by other people.

Mr Mortimer said Pistorius prodded him aggressively in the chest during their conversation and was later involved in an argument with someone else, prompting bouncers to ask his group to leave.

Another unnamed partygoer quoted by the Johannesburg Star newspaper said he witnessed the scuffle between Mr Mortimer and another "flat-out drunk" man he later identified as Pistorius as he passed him with a group of friends and allegedly flashed his middle finger.

you're welcome Rosie, even if reports are exaggerated, why on earth would you be clubbing while out on bail for murder. I could understand a quiet family meal or social situation better The manager of the club is now backing OP's story, even though there was independent witnesses and the guy has now challenged OP to a lie detector test., maybe he could swing a back hander to the lie detector bloke or Uncle Leo could.

I really am sick to death of the whole family. an innocent woman died and for months it is poor Oscar  He's a broken man, he's traumatized, he's unstable, he's self harming...he's also a complete toss pot who killed someone through either rage or stupidity, either way I hope they throw away the key. Clearly, if he walks away from this he's not going to learn by any of his mistakes

Exactly and well put Dame. I couldn't agree more.

It only adds insult to injury for poor Reeva's family  What they must be feeling right now...

I think the lengths this family will go to get OP either off or the lightest sentence possible disgusting tbh.  I know which family as the most dignity

couldn't agree more with you your Dameship

I think this is his last chance saloon or he'll scarper somewhere that doesn't have extradition with SA (Brazil springs to mind)

I tweeted this and have been retweeted but many more favourited it so it seems I'm not alone

 and  retweeted you
2h
I wonder if the timing of ' brawl and tweets is the forerunner to him having a before sentencing

I really hope if he does have a 'breakdown' it has no influence on the sentencing.  my worry is that even if found guilty, if he's had a 'breakdown' he'll be sent to a nice cushy mental institution to serve out his time and have therapy and more colouring in sessions - it really boils my piss

No love for volatile Oscar Pistorius from ex-South African teammates at Commonwealth Games

Oscar Pistorius in court at his murder trial for the shooting death of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

LONG before Oscar Pistorius stood in the dock charged with murder, his South African teammates knew he was not the man we thought he was.

Pistorius is everywhere and nowhere in Glasgow where a fuller picture has emerged of his volatile double life.

He is the most talked about South African athlete at the Commonwealth Games yet he is not even here.

Even before the South African team got through customs they were being quizzed by fellow arrivals about the nation's fallen idol.

Once a global icon after surging to fame as the Blade Runner who ran on artificial legs, he faces up to 25 years in prison if he is convicted of the premeditated murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp after he repeatedly shot her through a toilet door at their South African home last year.

The trial is nearing conclusion.

Many South African teammates have little sympathy for they remember him as a hot-headed antagonist whose temperamental ways were well hidden beneath the purified public image.

Oscar Pistorius is remembered as a hot-headed antagonist behind his purified public image.

“He's gone now,” said one South African official who declined to be named.

“No matter what the judge decides his life is over. He killed her. That is not in dispute. He will never be able to go out to bar in South Africa. Even shopping will be a nightmare. A man can't hide forever.

“We all knew he had a different side to him but it was rarely placed on public view. He played the media beautifully while he was running. He even hired a public relations girl from London when he ran at the 2012 Games. But we all knew behind closed doors how volatile he could be. Ask Arnu Fourie.”

Fourie, a London 2012 Paralympic gold medallist, allegedly moved out of a room with Pistorius after becoming agitated at the sound of Pistorius arguing with people on the phone.

Though Fourie later denied the claim, many believe it was true. There were other reports that during Pistorius' days on tour other runners did not want to room with him and that he sent vile text messages to male and female journalists.

Many South African journalists refused to criticise him during his athletics career for fear of being seen a cynic trying to tear down a national hero.

Two Johannesburg newspapers’ reports after Oscar Pistorius was recently involved in a nightclub incident.

The other aspect of Pistorius' nature his teammates found bewildering was his penchant for talking about himself in the third person.

“He would say ‘Oscar had a bad night that night,’ and it was almost as if he was trying to distance himself from what he had done. Now he must face the truth.”

During Pistorius' lengthy trial his former teammates watched proceedings and had their own take on his evidence.

“When he admitted to a ‘fight or flight’ instinct where sudden loud noises such as a car backfiring freaked him out I wondered how did he cope with the starter's gun when he ran?” the official said.

“If he was so scared of loud noises how did he ever get out of the blocks after the bang? I'm serious. The question should have been asked.”

Pistorius' trial has been attended by a group nicknamed The Pistorians who carry placards of support for him, but the Games squad mates who toured with him are certainly not among them.

very pertinent question and one I've always wondered why Nel didn't ask?

Thanks Dame, thats fascinating

Wow... its all coming out of the woodwork. I remember his post-race outburst as the one sour note at the 2012 Paralympics. It was otherwise hugely enjoyable and conducted in the best spirit imaginable.

Its almost Lance Armstrong-like? [not the drug issue]. He was also an unpleasant character disliked by fellow competitors, who felt too intimidated to publicly criticise the golden boy.

I think he did Pengy, either to the shrink who said he had GAD or the SA team doctor...I think the excuse was he would be anticipating the starter gun. Remember the fight or flight thing came up after OP had been on the stand...I think this was one of his latter excuses
