not a happy dust bunny
The fact that hardly any police arrived today, pretty much meant that the State knew the trial wasn't continuing.
not a happy dust bunny
can you imaging him in a mental institution
#OscarTrial Masipa: it would be unwise for the court to rely on a diagnosis without help from the relevant experts. BB
as good as saying he's about to be carted off
#oscartrial Masipa: doubt has been created that accused may have another defence with respect to his criminal responsibility..
I think part of her decision was because Roux opposed
#OscarTrial #oscartrail199 #OscarPistorius the good Judge is in the process of grantring the order. Good girl!!!!
Love Judge Greenland
she's doubting Dr Vorster Roux is officially hopeless

I love him, he's brilliant
#OscarPistorius Masipa: Dr Vorster may have had very little time to compile her report. (True) Cannot replace proper report
she's deffo gonna grant it

I'm surprised at her wording...she's more or less ignored Dr Vorster report, if she hadn't granted it I don't doubt she would have totally ignored it as not being a safe diagnosis after two sessions
off eating all the pies or collecting lemons to suck as I've just suggested.
Yes she's granted it
#OscarPistorius Masipa grants the order, it's offical. OP's getting referred for observation.
AS THE FECKING COURT PLEASES
we're off till Tuesday
#OscarPistorius Masipa grants the order, it's official. OP's getting referred for observation.
Barry Roux says they've discussed his admission as an "outpatient" - "I don't anticipate any difficulties in that case". #OscarPistorius
just had a phone call...youngest grandson is coming round, he's been sent home from school with chicken pox I have got him all morning....he wants him to be an outpatient
#OscarPistorius goes to Weskoppies. I go to Monaco. This is why I don't shoot people.

awww poor thing
OP is getting special treatment cos he's gonna be treated via OPD rather than as an inmate
#OscarPistorius Masipa: The purpose of referral is not to punish the accused twice over. Outpatient, if possible, should be considered
I will be back to discuss it later...I got to go and see to my grandson Pengy

Off to shop in a while so have a lovely day both
Roux was so opposed to this so I have to cling to that and hope this is not designed to help OP escape justice .
Today's trial
The chief prosecutor in the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius has asked for the Paralympian to be placed under psychiatric evaluation after an expert witness testified that he had an anxiety disorder.
Gerrie Nel noted that a psychiatrist for the defence had testified that the disorder she diagnosed in Pistorius may have played a role in his fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home on Valentine's Day last year. Nel acknowledged that an evaluation of Pistorius's state of mind at a government facility could mean the trial, which began on 3 March, would be delayed.
Judge Thokozile Masipa ordered an adjournment and said she would rule on Nel's request on Wednesday morning.
Nel questioned why the defence had decided to ask Dr Merryll Vorster to testify. He suggested that the trial was not going well for Pistorius, and that his lawyers were floating the idea that a disorder contributed to Steenkamp's shooting to suggest that the athlete bore less responsibility for her death.
Pistorius says he mistook Steenkamp for an intruder when he shot her through the closed door of a toilet cubicle. Prosecutors say he killed her in anger after an argument.
In asking for further evaluation of Pistorius's mental state, Nel appeared to be trying to ward off any attempt by the defence to argue that he should be treated favourably by the court because of a disorder linked to his disability.
Pistorius's chief lawyer, Barry Roux, said at the start of his defence that the double-amputee's vulnerability and disability lay at the centre of his case. He said Pistorius should not be sent for a 30-day psychiatric evaluation and that he wanted to call another witness to continue testimony.
Vorster met Pistorius this month, prompting Nel to question whether the timing of her late appearance as a defence witness signified a change in tactics.
OP will be treated as an out patient and we will resume the trial 20th May 2014 at 9.20AM.
Cheers for the coffee Moonie much appreciated
Does this mean there will be no action in this thread for a while. I've enjoyed catching up with the trial with a mid morning cuppa following the trial and you lot too. .what will I read instead
I had to Google GAD as didn't have a clue what it was. . turns out it is the actual name for what I have suffered with for the past 20 yrs or more and is a daily constant in my life with added agoraphobia on top . . You learn something new everyday. .never knew what to call what I had before other than a garbled explanation, and now I know..
Can't see that OP has anything like what I have, after having read the description of the illness and its effects.. he seems to be able to function normally especially socialise and travel and have relationships etc but, if he does have it I cannot fathom what that has to do with the case anyway, I am not about to, nor have I ever wanted to, run around and shoot people no matter how anxious I have felt ..

so ticked it's as an outpatient - the barsteward should be inside hospital instead of jollying on uncle Arnie's posh farm while he trots to hospital a few hours a week

we can come in daily and pretend to be OP - might get Dame to draw the animation that never was. Frank Moonie can keep cleaning and bringing breakfast, Aimee can keep breaking things, I'll pretend to be a member of SAPS and nick stuff and you have to guess what item I've taken and how

I would put my house, sorry mah hause on it that he doesn't have this condition and that's why Roux didn't want him evaluated. If he'd been institutionalised, there is no way in hell he could have kept it up for 30 days. Now we know he's being evaluated as an outpatient I'm not so sure as he can prepare for it but I live in hope that the professionals will see through it
*switches my alarms off*
get back here Frank Moonie I still want brekkie and tea and bikkits every day
anyone would think I wasn't paying you

Yup I agree with you. If you have this disorder you cna hold it together for short periods of time . .if he is being evaluated for it he needs to be looked at on an ongoing basis and also observed in the company of others, strangers in particular. One of the main features of the disease is normal feelings are escalated so general nervousness with strangers becomes a huge deal and increases anxiety etc..
Sound to me like they are just going to go thru a check list of Psych Q&A's asking things like how do you feel if xyz happens instead of seeing how he reacts during and after xyz happens. . He'll be coached on the correct answers to give to a question type evaluation no doubt. Also probably coached in a way to get whatever result the defence wants from it
LOL at your suggested attempts to keep the thread going during down time at court
