Roux wasn't doing a bad job until Oscar took the stand, then it all went t*ts up from there.

I think the experts Roux put forward are crap and Roux of all people should have known these reports would have been ripped to shreds

how dare my doctor ring to change my medication and insist I have another blood test in 2 weeks   *looks at poorly jabbed finger from yesterday*

Aww, does that mean another jabbed finger in a fortnight?

yes - they need my Us & Es to check for kidney function

Try to think positively. If there is anything awry, it is being picked up quickly and they can sort out your meds. Hopefully, it will all be fine though.

The thing is, this guy has a really good reputation. Last night on Sky, they said he is one of the most highly respected ballistics experts in SA, so how was my lovely Barry to know he'd be rubbish?

I'm convinced in the year from the shooting to this trial [unusual that OP got his trial so quickly as most have to wait approximately 2 years to come to trial] Barry would have mounted a defence based on what he knew then - all of what he probably had to use, would have been worthless thanks to OPs testimony - can't 100% blame Barry as OP ticked up the case for him but I would have thought he could have got a bit better bang for his buck

oh, I'm not blaming Roux, I just think up against an experienced prosecutor like Nel he should have been more prepared, he as after all lost his last case against him so he knows how he works

OP definitely turned things on their head.

In the early days of the trial, I read that the defence team were asked if they were going to put Oscar on the stand, and they replied, we have no option. Doesn't sound like they were happy for him to give testimony - and now we know why.

Roux can only work with what he's got - and he has Oscar and his ever changing defences.
