Thanx
first witness for the prosecution was a woman on a neighbouring estate, said a woman was screaming for help, blood curdling scream So much for him saying he thought it was a burglar, if its true
Very worrying - poor Reeva

I have watched several programmes about this.
One i found compelling was when a fellow athlete asked to be moved out of a room shared with Pistorius due to his explosive anger witnessed during phone conversations.

Sorry been busy . . . what was said?
Thanks for the link, Scotty. I had been watching on BBC News channel but they are now showing the news (understandably).
Am I on my own, wanting to see all the evidence, before deciding whether Oscar is guilty or innocent?

I don`t know what to think of it yet, having just read and saw news reports and the documentary. I want to see what the trial brings before deciding too.
Day 1 of the trial.

Guilty.

He thought it was a burglar with a very high pitched voice.
I'm reserving judgement as to his guilt or innocence and far be it for me to question another country's legal system but I found it very strange that the defence didn't seem to be asking questions, more they were telling the witness Michelle Burger (she's been named now) what she saw or heard and surely asking/telling the same question 8 times in row should be constituted as badgering the witness?
very strange
Oh and I'm going to keel pirate because I can't stop singing his version of the national anthem
I'm reserving judgement too...but so far I have a feeling his defence lawyer may just be pushing his points a bit too hard. In fact I'm not sure what point he was trying to make, if she had heard the cricket bat and Reeva was screaming, it means he was trying to break down the bathroom door before she was shot...therefor his burglar defence would be well and truly out of the window. I wonder if the prosecution will pick up on this point!

I wonder if the defence are suggesting that it was Oscar who was screaming as he tried to break down the door, having realised that he'd accidentally shot Reeva.

I thought about that too Yogi...it does seem strange that she insists it was gun shots and then a woman's scream after the final shot...that would have been impossible

Did the defence not make reference to Reeva's wounds and suggest it would have been impossible, due to her brain injuries, for her to have screamed after she was shot?
I didn't find the first witness's testimony to be completely truthful, and felt she had embroidered her evidence to fit in with the prosecution idea of murder. I also don't understand how near neighbours didn't hear anything, while someone 170m away claims to have heard everything in such clear detail and I'm not sure I believe her reason for taking so long to come forward as a witness.
Yes, he said due to her injuries she would not have been capable of screaming Yogi, I thought she was trying to be truthful to be honest and I think there are some more witnesses to take the stand...I suppose we'll be able to get a clearer picture the more we hear Yogi

I think there is a lot more to hear, from both sides.
Ultimately, it will come down to who we believe, as the prosecution has already stated that their case is built on circumstantial evidence.
Ooooooooooooooh cheers for that^^^^ Scotty. I will catch up later

I found the second witness more interesting, the one that lived close to him. She said she had heard raised voices for an hour up until the gun shots, it will be interesting to see how many neighbours they have taking the stand

I found her evidence more credible than the first one.
wasn't there a delay between the gun shots? I thought (although I could and probably am wrong) but there was one shot fired then a gap before the final 3 were fired?

The problem with the first was the interpretation I think Yogi, the guy on sky said it wasn't being translated to her or back to the lawyers properly. I noticed her husband asked to speak in English today The part where it was said she had a confused night, she had said something like it was an upsetting night and was clearly translated wrongly and the defence lawyer used that quite a bit yesterday when she hadn't actually said that ..they mentioned quiet a few things that had not been translated properly Yogi,

I know there was an issue with the translation, in fact I heard her correct and prompt the translator a few times. Since her English was as good as, if not better, than the translator, I can't understand why she didn't give her testimony in English.
My problem with her evidence was my feeling that she was too precise, too detailed (especially as she stayed 170m from Oscar's house) and too 'polished'. She wasn't prepared to consider any other explanation for anything, and it appeared she had added emotive wording to her evidence from her original statement, imo, to fit in with the premeditated murder theory.

you could be right Yogi, like you I was more impressed with the second witness we are going to be here for bloody weeks if they take this long with one witness

Day 2
Thanks Scotty I missed about an hour this afternoon...and we're having a new roof put on so...I had the sound up to a zillion decibels
Interesting day today...although Roux is still getting on my nerves, I know he is supposed to cast doubt, but he seems to be telling the witnesses what they saw and heard and change the sequence of events to fit OP defence. It will be interesting to hear why OP did what he did after Reeva was shot and why he claimed everything was fine when she had been mortally wounded
