 Wednesday 29th August Channel 4  8:00pm to 11:20pm

Jon Snow and Krishnan Guru-Murthy present live coverage of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

The show, titled Enlightenment, promises a spectacular celebration of the spirit of the Paralympic Games and aims to challenge perceptions of human possibility.

The ceremony will open with a flypast by Aerobility, a British charity that trains those with disabilities to become pilots, and will also feature 50 specialist circus performers, a parade of all competing nations and the entrance of the Paralympic Flame, which ignites the cauldron and signals the start of 11 days of elite sporting competition.
