Got sorted.....the Mother in Law has some spare!  The brother in law (he's a bit of a bah humbug) wasn't amused when I rang up and asked him to ask his ma did she have a spare carrot because I forgot to get one for the reindeer

Cleaning all done. I am no longer a slovenly aquatic avian sket!

I'm now gonna knock up a few mince pies (there's probably a joke in there too), and then have a bath and get into my new christmas eve jimjams. This is my fave bit!

Awww Ditty   I did mine in stages over the past few weeks so just had a few to do today so it wasn't too bad.

My kids are on their way home now so it's all about to start..........I'm a bit excited now  (the wkd has helped )

Stuffing in the oven.. smelling deelish... check.   Bed changed - check.   Bathroom sparkling - check.    Just need to iron what I want to wear tomorrow, empty the bins, open a bottle and then I can chill with a Chinese, some wine.. and do the nails later at my leisure.

My grandkids just rung me lamenting the fact that their mother had no carrots or mince pies!!! I told them a couple of apples some cookies and a tin of beer will suffice!!!

I already gave them the reindeer food and glitter etc.  I really despair TBH ............she has no sense of awe and wonder (I guess it's how you're brought up).

My OH is bathing the kids and I'm having some WKDs.  Can't stomach wine tonight, drank too much of it last night!

The wee one has an upset tummy and has spent quite a while on the loo since he got in  don't know if it's too much junk the past few days or excitement for Santa coming!  I've loet them open a total of 4 pressies each tonight, PJs, Housecoats, DVDs and one toy one each, the youngest wasn't amused with any of them he's a tough crowd.

Oh and the eldest has hinted that one of my presents 'will come in handy tomorrow morning to capture the look on their faces' so I know the OH has bought me a camera and I'm well chuffed

awwwww....   I don't get it!   

Its only for a few years...   and I reckon we enjoy it more than they do!

I will never ever forget the year I had the brainwave of doing flour footprints to the fireplace where their stockings & presents are left...    and hearing my daughter (aged about 6) screaming from the top of the stairs   "HE'S BEEN...    HE's REALLY REALLY BEEN" ...   (it never crossed her mind that snow would have melted)

12 years on & she still wants me to do it this year..   but I'm not going to...    we have all got stockings from Santa...   but I'm not doing footprints.

Awww... another fave memory was the last really bumper christmas we had (cash wise... before I had the 7 years off work) and the boy coming down... seeing his stack of pressies & saying "well butter my rump & call me toast"     I didn't know at the time he'd got it from Spongebob hahaha

When my oldest was two years (and two months) we did a lovely stocking full of all the old tat ............we were in the bedroom next door and heard him gasping and wowing in wonder at his stocking TBH - that would have been enough. When we went downstairs to a fully decorated room and christmas tree (for one reason or another we were very late that year) ........................it really was beyond wonderful. All his big pressies too ................a magical moment!

I think he might have had too many alcoholic drinks while leaving presents.....his journey on Norad was a bit strange, he left Ireland and went to Iceland then proceeded to travel back to Ireland which took 9 minutes!   Drunk Santa needs a sat-nav.
