Well..given that I've no patience.... I couldn't wait ovenight.   Touch wood - it seems ok.      I turned it upside down as quickly as I could (I've never moved so fast) and shoogled it till i got as much drips off as possible.  When I turned it the right way up it was a white screen.    I switched it off and it came back a white screen, next time I switched it the white screen had coloured vertical lines up and down it (that was when Inearly cried)  another couple of on and offs and it came back on - I'm typing on it now.... and I've transferred all my important files to a pen drive.  That's what was worrying me most - if worst came to worst I'd have to claim on my insurance, but I didn't want to lose my stuff.  I'm starting to breathe again now.  Thanks allx

the rice trick worked with lil Aims phone when she dropped it in the bath

Agree, Aimee   Same happened with a mate's i-phone (or it might have been a Blackberry); anyway, it worked perfectly once it had dried out.

It didn't work on any one of the three mobis I put through the washer last year!!! I think a whole cycle is a step too far. It's a good job we don't go for expensive phones in this house

I remember some time ago when I knocked a bottle of wine over - Mr Woo flew off the sofa and we were both flapping around .............he looked at me and said 'if anyone was looking through the window they'd think we were worried about the carpet or something'

OK, I'll ask.......... why was you in the shower with your mobile phone?

Can't you be like the advert and take just one bottle into the shower?

I was hoping for a day off work, I think it was karma getting me for being a lazy biatch.       it was last winter when it was really snowy - Steve, my boss, lived along the road from the office, I'm about 10 miles away.  He said to me the night before - if the roads are a nightmare, don't come in tomorrow - I'll try it and I'll call you and tell  you if the roads are passable'   I had to get ready for work, but I was hoping for a phone call to tell me not to go so I had the moby on the bathroom sink when I showered.   It rang when I was in the shower and i answered it.. and dropped it in the shower.   To top it all he told me I should be able to  get in ok so I didn't even get the flippin' day off!
