I read about this when the plot came up for sale. What got to me was that the owner of the plot had her husband dug up and buried in another plot so she could make money from her hsuband's grave. What kind of people are like this? Greed is too soft a term to use.

People who have too much money and have no idea what to do with it, except pander to their wants. As a human being, I find it obscene that people can throw money around like this. I know it is their money to do what they want with it, but fgs

The seller wants the money to pay off her mortgage. I'd do the same if I had an asset like that. I'm sure I could find somewhere else suitable to put the remains, husband or not. Afterall, graves are for the living.

I suppose it depends on your morals and/or ethics whether having lots of money is okay or not. Someone who claims to be a Christian and has things like an LCD TV and family holidays is probably in breach of their ethics as I suppose Christians should be giving their coats to anyone who asks and embracing a Jesus-like lifestyle. I'm quite hedonistic and an atheist so I'm not obliged to give any money away.

Would love to know who bought it, think even they realise how frivolous it is as they have not been named.

You can't take it with you and it's yours to do what you like with,even if it is ridiculous to spend such an amount on selling and buying a grave,especially as the poor old hubby is having to me moved to accommodate the transaction

The link shows a burial vault, had I not have looked, I would have assumed they were digging up a grave. It makes sense to sell such an asset, (the dead husband has been lying 'face down' for 23yrs, he got his wish ) if you are struggling to pay your mortgage. However, your point about the buyer is valid. Having a building project for the desperate would have made more sense.

It's pure indulgent selfishness!

If I had that sort of money (the chance would be a fine thing) I'd do a Simon Cowell... Have a bloody good lifestyle while giving plenty to those that really need it, then when I pass away I'd leave everything to good causes, leaving just enough to make my loved ones comfortable.

As to my final 'arrangements', well, a simple cremation (the greener the better) and no memorial plaque. My final resting place will be in the hearts of those who loved me and they have my permission to flush my ashes down the loo.

I read that during cremation the skeleton sits bolt upright in the flames and then afterwards the bones just get ground up in a huge mincing machine. Read that in New Scientist. It certainly put a few people off being cremated!

I've never been convinced that the returned ashes are who they say they are. I bet they just scoop a load out of a communal bin.
