Mr Hague however... what I don't get.... whether he's gay or straight, don't give a monkey's, BUT... assuming he did fancy a quickie with his aide... do we honestly think they'd BOOK a twin? Course not.. they'd scuttle along the hotel corridor in the dead of night.
True kaffy, but I do think it was lack of judgement. I don't think he's naive, so it should have crossed his mind that sombody would make an issue out of it. I also don't think that he should have let himself be press ganged into that intimate statement. It's not our business.

This is in regard to Hague.
I think Hague was silly to reply to the blog written by Guido Fowles.
It was only on the internet, now because of Hague's reply it everywhere, national newspapers, TV and radio!!
Hague has made so much of this ,I feel sorry for his partner.
So much information about such private matters.
It was said today that if you walk like a duck ,quack like a duck ,some may think you are a duck.

I agree, Col... and what they've been through has absolutely no bearing on what side he bats for, even if that mattered, which it doesn't.     If it was about whether what he felt for the guy had any bearing on why he got the job, that's a different matter, but like I say.. they'd need to pretty daft to book in together in that instance.

That's pretty much my view erinp.

There's nothing wrong with people sharing hotel rooms to keep business costs down and I guess it happens quite a lot when people are on the road.

I don't understand why he needed to make his wife's miscarriage a media talking point and I don't quite get how trying for children precludes being gay.

It seems a bit odd that his aid had to resign if there was nothing in the rumours. His resignation adds strength to the rumors.

Like you, I think this would have burnt itself out, assuming it's just speculative rumor mongering.  If it turns out to be true then Hague will look a fool and have dragged his wife's miscarriage into the news for no reason other than to save his skin.  He'd definitely have been better off to ignore it or put his hands up to it.

I would probably have asked the question, "Why has everyone such a mortal fear of being thought of as gay?
I know, even though I am of the opposite camp to him, that he is a good constituency MP, a good cabinet minister and a  good laugh. Alas! Since he was elected there have been a series of awkward stories. By all means attack him for being a Tory but I don't see what his private life has to do with us. I'm sure that if he was in a hypocritical position then Peter Tatchell himself would make a song and dance about it, but even he says Hague should be left alone.
Guido Fawks (?) is a knave and a twat IMO.

Isn't what they were geting at though was that, if he was gay, and if he was having a thing with the aide, was it nepotism that got the aide the job in the first place?      All a storm in a teacup if you ask me and, has already been said, he'd have done better to ignore it.

I also agree that it is none of anyone elses business, but it could also said: there is no smoke without fire .... so why & for what reason would these allegations keep coming to the surface?

No one ever accused richard branson for instance of being gay .... you've gotta admit, it makes you wonder why it keeps cropping up

The truth is out there somewhere & it's blowing in the wind
