OT Virgin V+ HD box help needed please

Hi everyone

I'm getting a new TV on Thursday and looking into V+ boxes. Has anyone got one and how good are they? Am I right in thinking it's a viewer and not just a recorder and is there an installation fee (allready with Virgin on XL package)
