I would have been intrigued... even excited if it had been Hamilton in the lead (I'm so bad for thinking that... *berates self*), but I really want Jensen to nail it this year.

Yeah it would be good to see him win the thing.

I saw Mansell win his very first British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch....Damon Hill was racing Formula 3 that day.
My sisters hubby and their 22 year old daughter watch it.When I visit me and me sister go off out rather than have to endure the hours of tedium that is motor racing.

I do think he was one of the best, but I would have thought that whatever nationality he was and I have some strong negative ( ) feelings towards Damon Hill, so we're ok there.
AS FOR THE HOFF!!!!! I'm just glad that I left Germany before he came into anybodies awareness.

Phew!
I was trembling when I saw your name on the last post column!
Actually.... having seen Schumacher on Top Gear recently I have warmed to him.... he was all chilled and more 'human' without his 'competitive head' on! And... he was one of the best I can't deny that.
yippee I can put the next race back on my calender now
having only just got back into F1 again after ending my addiction over the Ferrari/Schumacher manipulation of the sport I wasnt looking forward to Schumacher and Hamilton taking the spotlight away from this years potential winner Jenson ......
he needs the break so GO Jenson GO

Do you know, I don't get this Hoff business at all. Nobody I know back in the old fatherland likes him, but the Germans have a weird tradition of liking obscure entertainers. One of the better things to come out of my move here was to get away from The Hitparade. Sweet Lord, what a pile of poo that used to be.
PS. I haven't actually seen what you said about the hoff and us lot, so I might yet come back all guns blazing. Joking.

spot on Ditty
a complete change of personality
I honestly do not think that he ever was going to come back. His injury in February was always going to be a hinderance.
Cynically, I think this was an excuse for Ferrari to get some sneaky testing in. But since some of the other teams said no, then there was no point in carrying on the pretence that he was comming back.

Excellent... you have a memory like mine!
You did see what I said about The Hoff... it was months and months ago... when there was that programme on about Scott Mills staying with The Hoff!
I made a remark about The Hoff's popularity in Germany... and the moment I posted it I thought "oh shit, I forgot about Cologne"... and then you posted....
You were cool about it then too... and we did laugh!

It was very confusing!

Oh right, I thought you meant today. Yep, memory like a sieve. Thing is ditty, I've had some serious s**t thrown at me in the past about being German and the implications of Hitler and what went on then. Fortunately I can be objective and have never felt insulted by it, unless somebody made it personal, but I've been here 30 years now and nobody has started an argument with me over the last war for years. My answer is that I'm as glad as anybody that Hitler lost, that usually took the wind out of their sails, in fact I became friends with an old RAF pilot who was involved in the 1000 bomber raid over Cologne. I know from my parents' description what that was like, but we used to get together for that day and had a jar and then the same again on Poppy day. He left me a book which he 'liberated' from the townhall in Luebeck and it still has pride of place. Anyhoo, I'm waffling about serious stuff now, back to the Hoff.....

I would never throw serious s**t around at anyone because of their nationality, or where they were born etc. Any comments made were just the usual rivalry (re: Germany v England football, Schumacher v Hill etc).
My comments were tongue in cheek, and you took them in the spirit intended, and threw a few back at me. It was a good forum evening!

Not surprised, but it would have been goo dto see how he would have coped, not having raced for a few years, but I want Jenson to win so glad he's not comingback
Ferrari should use the Stig - is it wrong to find him attractive??

well maybe the wrong choice of word
maybe Ditty was right and the "more human" comment would have sufficed
I cant go any further with agreeing though as two comments on the man in one thread would just be so wrong
* Schumacher almost attractive ummmnnn I will have to think long and hard on that one, it is a very hot today to have to consider a very hot shower and lots of scrubbing *
