The fact that a community is living in terror of a man who's clearly lost it justifies the expense IMO. Look at what happened in Whitehaven only a few weeks ago. What would you want them to do? Put the local Bobby on the beat on the case?

Well i kind of agree, it has been said to keep a prisoner in jail costs more than a child at Eton. I am at the moment trying very hard to get my son funding to go to college, he has tried so hard to find work, but very little work for 16 year olds in Edinburgh at the mo. It just doesnt make sense the amount of money this country pays to offenders but nothing to victims and tax payers who live a decent life. But hey ho, i wont go on x

After 6 hours of the stand off between the police and Moat, things looked as if the might give himself up. But then at 1.15 he shot himself, was taken to hospital and pronounced dead at 2.20.

It was clear from the beginning that he intended to die and at least he took no-one else with him at the end.

But what about the people who have been arrested, and in some cases charged - what happens to them now?. In particular the two men who were apparently hostages but have been charged with conspiracy to murder?

Cannot believe all his 'mates' were involved he'll be hailed as some sort of hero by the twats on facebook no doubt
