Leave the room, shut the door, stuff towels to fill any crack beneath the door, and find someone who will come in and catch it You can't possibly go back into the room whilst you know it's at large
Nah! I love spiders,I just leave them be.
We had a powercut last night.... so I was on the sofa, trying to read a book by the light of a candle..... and by sheer luck happened to notice the one that was ninja'ing down from the ceiling... an inch from my face.
Luckily one of the menfolk went and released it outside.
I felt it was using the cover of darkness to take liberties!

Is that the entire spider or just the body and not counting the legs?
Argh! I hate spiders too. Keeell it! Get the hoover, a can of deoderant, yellow pages, hairspray and a lighter. You're bound to get it with one of those methods.

That'll only work if it builds an enormous web across my living room.
If it does that I will die of fright. I will literally shit out my intestines in terror!

When I said not counting the legs I know spiders have 8 legs - I meant to say not including the legs.

Aw... I do try Katty. I have got better over the years... but those big buggers... garden spiders, the one with the big triangle bodies... and they pivot with the knees higher than their body... and they sprint really fast.....
...they still freak me out. I don't like killing them though.... but if I was Skive and on my own... I'd have to get the hoover out.
What an image......quote:Originally posted by skive:quote:Originally posted by kattymieoww:

Its a weird one... fear of spiders. Its like they are alien or something. I have overcome fear of loads of beasties and come to love them.... but I can only get so far overcoming spider fear..... its like an instinctive thing.

It's probably more afraid of you than you are of him. Don't kill it, it's bad luck.
Call the fire brigade. They will catch it and you have the added benefit of the hunky firefighters to drool over!
NB: I am in no way endorsing calling the emergency services for non-emergency reasons.

I have a spider catcher that sucks them into a tube so they can be released outside.
But it was too big to fit in. All it's legs were gripping on to the edge of the tube.
It's the size of a planet I tell you!!!!!!!!

When they find my body I will be clinging to the keyboard, intestines hanging out my arse and a look of sheer horror on my face.

Yep I know its like a primitive fear we all have. I made myself pick a biggie up - sort of mind over matter - telling myself it was a sweet little thing that was really scared. It was fine in my cupped hands and didn`t move. I took it down the garden. Trouble is my friend says they always come in pairs, so I probably separated him (or her) from its spouse and felt awful.
poor Stonksy. LOL to Miss S's smiley!quote:Originally posted by stonks:
