I was too tired to cook after work so I went straight to this nice Greek restaurant after work in town by myself and ordered a nice meal, and thoroughly enjoyed it, there weren't that many people in there when I got here but I got a few looks from a group sat together not far from me. I never felt uncomfortable, but some people think it's weird to order nice food by yourself, I don't, I love it and I can afford to do it, so why not?

Glad you enjoyed it
Glad you enjoyed it
you enjoyed yourself so whats the problem
Not weird at all, glad you enjoyed it.
No I don't think so, just as long as you enjoyed it. What did you have?
What did you have?
I think some parts of society think everythinig has to be done in couples or groups, it's like I like going to the pub or the pictures by myself as well, I am very happy with my on company. Eating by myself is ace, no hanging around waiting on others to make their minds up about what to choose.
Lamb Tagine, this really nice spicy potatoe thing in a spicy tomatoe sauce, pitta bread, and half a lager, only ÂĢ12.00, and the waitress was lush!
I do not see why anybody should think it is wrong. If they do, that is their problem, not yours.
Glad you enjoyed it.

I love solo cinema trips too
You're right about some sections of society thinking that, unless you're half of a couple of part of a group, you should just stay home and eat boil-in-the-bag cod
That meal sounds delicious
ÂĢ12 is very reasonable. Nice!quote:Originally posted by Poolshark:

Me? I need company - i get lonely very quickly

I would happily do that, but I would probably take a book, mainly because I never eat while doing nothing else at the same time.
Prefer cinema on my own. Unless it's a comedy.quote:Originally posted by Demantoid:quote:Originally posted by Poolshark:

Next month when I get paid I'm going to this quite upmarket restaurant by myself to try Monkfish, I've never had it but it looks devine, and I know this restaurant has had good reviews, again after work in the week, it saves on washing up as well.

Single?
There are a lot of single people in this world and there is no reason why they should be at home sitting huddled over a plate of beans on toast.
My sister always has a book with her anyway and has a nice leisurely read while she is waiting for her food to arrive.

I think you should be publically flogged for doing such an immoral thing....
Why would you feel that it was wrong Pool? I think it is wonderful that you have the confidence to go to a restaurant alone and have a meal. Do it more often!

Oops. If we see someone sitting on their own in front of us then we throw pick&mix at them during the Pearl and Dean thingy. Is that very wrong?
Why not! Though I will say it's still easier for blokes to go into pubs, resturants etc on their own.
My husband is often away from home overnight, and has to eat on his own. I feel sorry for anyone who has to do that. Often when we are out together I feel sympathy with others that I see eating alone.
As long as you enjoyed your meal, all power to your elbow, as the saying goes!!!

Im happy you enjoyed yourself... Society can be too judgemental sometimes. I love solo cinema trips as well... If your friends always disappoint why not go out and enjoy yourself?
