O/T I've broken my wrist!

Well I have had a lovely day today... not. We went to Ironbridge on Wednesday and I managed to trip over a paving stone and land on my wrist. I put an ice pack on it (thankfully my husband has got to carry an first aid kit as part of being a taxi driver) and rested it. It got worse and today I had had enough and asked my husband to take me to the hospital where I found that I had broken my wrist.

Its not easy typing one handed especially as I touch type and my arm feels as if it is falling off! I have to go back tomorrow to have the plaster checked and then they will tell me more.Soooooooo please make me laugh on the boards tonight to take my mind off it.

I'm at home anyway as I had to give my job up due to illhealth, but the upside is no housework and no cooking!!

Best time of year to do it, lots of R&R sitting in the garden with your feet up. Hope it's not too sore though.

It is painful and the plaster has already started itching and because its so warm here its sweating. The doctor at the hosptial told me to take 400ml strength iuprofen, one every six to eight hours so Im gooing to take one now as I'm due to take it. Can see me staying up all night as I'm uncomfortable at the moment.

Have they given you the painkillers that could drop a horse? I had some when I broke my wrist.

Wishing you better, it is not only painful it is a real pain in the butt. You'll be amazed how many things you need two hands for when you really think you can do such and such with one.

Yeah plenty of sitting outside or in the conservatory. The weather forecast for next week is good so I will get my husband to move the computer and TV into the conservatory and be on line and watch Wimbledon at the same time.

No the doctor I saw just said take ibuprofen 400ml strength, but I've got to go back in the morning so I will ask if I can have any painkillers. I'm finding it difficult already. Its my left wrist I have broken and I am amazed how much I use my left hand and arm, even for silly things like this morning trying to brush my hair with my left hand

I really feel for you hun, I'm right handed and I broke my left wrist about 10 years ago. I was useless and it really made me depressed too.
The hospital gave me co dydramol as pain killers. Tbh I never took many of them as they made me feel really strange but they did take the edge off the pain in the first week. They should certainly give you something better than over the counter meds for broken bones fgs

I found that the worst was trying to sleep. In the end I slept on the sofa with my left arm sort of cushioned against the back as that felt the most comfy.

Just grit your teeth hun, you'll soon be through it
