But 2 TV ads in particular, the 'Go Compare' one with the tenor and also the 'Money Supermarket' one with Omid Djalili (absolutley can't abide that man!!!) although they are suppose to entice people to use their services, the fact that I have to turn over the ads when they come on make me certain I will go out of my way never to use their services!!

Well you're not the only person that they are targeting. Sorry if that seems obvious, but I know for a fact that Ad agencies do loads of field work/research and even if they annoy people they have done their job and are memorable.

It's the ones who do brilliant adverts, but you can't remember what company they are advertising, that surprise me.
Very good point Blizz. One famous example was the cute 'Creature Comforts' ads that most people thought were advertising British Gas....but were in fact advertising Electricity
