OWWWWWW! Try soaking in a hot bath with a glass (or 6) of wine.
I don't know if it will help you feel better, but after a few glasses of wine, you won't care.

i tried not to cry, but i did my ankle is blue, my arm has a lovely carpet burn from elbow to wrist, i have a bruise from my backside down to the back of my knee and a bump on my head so not too many injuries
if pos soak in a hot bath, it eases the pain, plus you feel better after.

I did that once and had a bruise the size of, well, my bum, it was HUGE

*forgot to add a big bruise across my ribs to my injuries list*
Babes sorry
Owwwwwww!
My OH did that once. I was asleep in bed and he said he came back up into the bedroom, expecting a load of "Oh, poor you, are you OK, etc.."
But I just carried on zzzzzing, so he stood there for a minute or two, then went away to sulk!
Should have seen his bum next day - like a packet of wine gums

I wouldn't recommend a hot bath as if you have hurt your back, you feel lovely and warm and relaxed, then you have to get out of the bath and Aaarrrrrrggghhhhh your back goes into spasm and you're stuck and even greater agony than when you hurt yourself.
Been there, done that, couldn't get my knickers on to get to the doctors after I had managed to get out of the bath (after a struggle of half an hour).
The lesson is......have a hot shower instead.
Aww, have a bath and a glass of wine to dull the pain!

Have you ever tried Rescue Remedy, Aimee.
It's supposedly good for when you're a bit shaken up (it's a natural remedy btw), and arnica is good for bruising as it takes away a lot of the discolouring and helps the healing process.
Keep an eye on that swelling too!

It could be bruised tissue....but if it gives you too much gyp, then I suggest a visit to the doc.

will do, thanks
I know someone who did the flip flop down the stairs thing and fractured their ankle. Maybe an x-ray might be needed for reassurance.
P.S. Rescue Remedy has alcohol in it, you're best glugging your fav tipple instead.

have a couple of nurophen before you go to bed, will help take down the swelling and hopefuly you won't wake up every time you turn in your sleep.

the swelling has gone down, its just bruised, i've been walking on it and had a cold compress on as well, but i will go for an x-ray if the bruising gets any worse, thanks
