Not a chance. I would keep it a secret to all but my closest and most trusted family and friends. No way would I be willing to put a target on my head.

I know! i dont get why people do this either, although i am a big gob and would probably  have to tell everyone i know or least really want to! But the nation? Nah who wants begging letter etc?

My nephew won over a million and never told anyone but the family. They have 3 small children and letting the press know would have been really stupid.

The only person who would ever know how much I'd really won would be my mum. I'd make sure my friends and family were sorted, and then we'd be gone, goodbye permanent UK residency! Me and mine living a good life near the Caribbean sea. Tell the world? You're having a laugh!

l'd run off to Canada, New Zealand or Alaska - far away from here.  Live the life I have always dreamt of.

Id keep schtum but id buy a big house in Brighton, a new car, shit loads of clothes and have a holiday in bora bora so some may suspect something is awry

Something similar happened to my Dads side of the family few years ago, My Grandad had a share in this factory... took quite a huge chunk of the money when he and his cousins sold it. Him and my Grandma then decided to open a nursing home as there is good money in nursing homes... my Dad was already "Well off" so he didnt get involved in it much, but my Uncle was deeply involved in the business. Soon after a few months of the nursing home they were driving fancy cars and really putting themselves out there. There were alot of staff at the nursing home so they would of known my Grandad was carrying quite alot of money... he was old and vulnerable. Apparently he kept all his money, jewellery and card in a simple small safe in his house. No one ever questioned him on how he was taking care of the financial side of things. Then when he and my Grandma once went on holiday... someone had broke into the house and took the safe, I remember looking at it few years ago there was a huge hole in the wall where they had been drilling through. My Dad has always said he regrets leaving them to go off and do as they like, as his parents were old and my Uncle wasnt exactly the brightest... they really did make themselves a target. My uncle especially, he had guests round at his all the time and he was off out for meals. Everyone guessed that the staff at the nursing home may of mensioned it to someone that my Grandad was quite wealthy, it was quite sad at the time... it was only a few weeks after they said that they had gone bust.

Had my Dad come in and managed the financial side of things, stuck all the money in the bank rather then a small safe they would of been alright. They should of kept quiet about it, not off out paying for everyones meals and buying huge properties.

I don't think I would tell anyone.. but to be able to pay my kids' uni debts off. to buy a house outright, to be able to go on a fantastic holiday would be amazing..

Mind you I don't even do the lottery so the question is academic..

Wouldn't matter if i went to the papers or not, the amount of plastic surgery I would be having would mean that no-one would recognise me anyway

 

Im currently living in Preston, the nursing home if I remember right was in Lytham St Annes.

OK I'm not telling any of you about my recent win and my flip flop buying powers because of it.

My Gawd a lottery win would come in handy just now.
