ÂĢ200 quid phone?
Does it have an engine?
Does it have an engine?
I would definitely not give her yet another one, especially one so expensive. If you're worried about her safety, get a cheap one which she can use when she needs to contact you.

I'm the same as you, just buy it.
if she wants that phone go on ebay and get her a good second hand one, she keeps breaking them and really doesn't deserve a new one at that price.
Depends on what you can afford I suppose
If you have to go short don't buy it.
It's nice to get your kids what they want, but if it makes a huge hole in your budget get something similar, but cheaper.
It doesn't have to be all singing and dancing.
She'll be bored , and wanting an upgrade if she's anything like most teens

if you do buy it then you have more money thatn sense...ÂĢ200 for a phone??????
ÂĢ40 quid but they have all grown up
sorry to say, I buy my daughter pretty much anything she wants, whenever she wants it
NOTHING, AND whats more I have NEVER bought MY kids a present of ANY kind EVER, and I will NEVER as well,
Suppose they have to keep up with their mates or go one better than them.
Max ÂĢ50 for my children's birthdays, with the exception being my eldest's 18th.
But a ÂĢ200 'phone if they usually break them?
My eldest was hopeless with looking after 'phones - really clumsy - but has bought her own since she was 16. She now has one she bought from Sainsburys for a tenner, and is happy with it. She can call and text, and that's all she needs a 'phone for anyway, she says. I agree

Only as a reward for good behaviour, cleaning up, passing exams etc, not just as a whim especially if they keep getting broken. I am a bit strict with my kids, they have to understand the value of money. God i sound like an old pain in the bum !

My limit for birthdays is usually âŽ150 euro..but they know if they lose it or break it I won't replace it, that makes them look after their things....

What make phone is it?....
Im about to get a phone on contract, only costs ÂĢ15 a month. I suggest taking a look at T Mobile website, this new contract one is actually cheaper than pay as you go, well it was for me anyway. Sorry if its no help.

NOPE, I have NEVER seen them or spoken to them or provided ONE penny for their upkeep, and I have no intentions of changing that situation now,

your 1 st and 3rd are SPOT ON HEHEHEHE EVIL I am
If she brought the phone herself, she would take more care of it, my step daughter broke all the phones we gave her till her dad said your buying it yourself this time and she hasn't broken it since.
Depends on how many kids you have. I only have one, and as he is the only grandchild on my side of the family he is pretty spoilt. For his birthday he wanted a nokia music phone thing, my mum was due an upgrade on her contract so she got it for him.

true i've decided she's not having the money off me, i'll give her so much and she'll have to put the rest to it
About ÂĢ50....would never spend ÂĢ200 on a phone for any of them...if they want anything like that they can have money instead and save it....mine do this cos they all have their birthdays round Xmas so ask for money for both.

she's the only one and the first grandchild on both sides, so she's always been spoilt and now we are reaping what we have sowed
My kids would have known not to even ask for that much money to be spent on them.
Might be a good idea for her to learn that you can`t always get what you want. And, after all, not many earning adults can afford a ÂĢ200 phone.
Don`t buy my kids anything now - they are too old and have far more money than me. Send them a card tho`.

You have to shop around I got my son an LG KP500 for âŽ146 pay as you go but O2 were the only ones doing this deal if we wanted it elsewhere it had to be on contract....

Bought my 12 year old a laptop for his birthday....he has dyspraxia and school advised it - but he has wanted one for ages.
It cost ÂĢ175.
He put all his birthday money towards it and I paid the rest. About ÂĢ40 I think it was.

reality check i've always spent at least ÂĢ500 on her for xmas *but i do saving clubs*
